Don’t be alarmed, but most of what you see in the media has been carefully orchestrated for months.
Something really cool happened on Tuesday:, however: Without any real pre-planning (at least not that we heard of) everyone on the planet began posting an equal sign against a red background.
We promise we never got an HRC email telling us it was coming.
But now that the initial excitement is over, our friends are divided as to whether it was a stealth marketing campaign or something that happened organically. Doesn’t really matter: We all saw how the collective social-media unconsciousness stood at attention and bowed toward liberty.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
But you can’t ask Facebook not to make fun of a meme—that’s like asking Alyssa Edwards not to make a face!
So we’re collecting 12 of our favorite version of the classic red “equal sign” pictures that are dominating everyone’s walls this week.

Dude, it’s not “two equal signs”.
it’s ONE equal sign = two horizontal bars.

The Smirnoff one makes me happy–Smirnoff’s been my vodka for years and I’m glad to know my money went to supporting a company that will do this.
