SOUNDBITES — “2010 has the potential to see even more achievements for this community than at any other time.” —The always optimistic HRC president Joe Somonese, speaking at the group’s annual New York fundraiser gala, and ignoring House Speaker Nancy Pelosi‘s commitment to shut down any “controversial” bills that come her way

HRC has a cute logo and nice, thick Tee shirts, but no teeth. Because of this, they suck.

Its time to DEMAND JHoe’s resignation and an overhaul of HRC and cut off all funding unless they do so. They are an embaressment

The HRC put a friendly, likable face on the gay community, but now legal eagles must be ushered in to pick apart the bones of discrimination. Ryan, I’ve fired HRC-Joe by refusing to send in money. HRC is really pushing on lesbian dollars these days. Interesting, that they are showing such interest in women (now). Same will be true for Democrats. If we wash our hands of this party, they will hurt. They need to bleed. They are on the wrong side of history and we must never let anyone forget that Democrats failed us when we needed them. We must never let anyone forget it. If Republicans changed their stance and pushed for equality, would gays leave in droves? Republicans are fiscally conservative, but if they loosened up on the social stuff and supported marriage equality, they would be a force to be reckoned with. What would the GLBT community do if this issue of inequality was out of our hair? On what issue would we focus, if we were free of this fight? Many, many people are distracted by this discrimination issue, by this inequality. I resent this distraction, because there are other issues needing our attention.

Delusional Joe Solmonese. Delusional HRC.
These people know how to raise money – give the people false hope. Didn’t we learn our lesson with Bill and Barack?
After 29 years and $550 million all HRC has accomplished are those cruising stickers for our cars.

I hate to paraphrase Sarah Palin but… I have to ask sobbin’ Joe this: “How’s that hopey changey thing workin’ for ya?”
And for us.
And for me?
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Bottom line: No checkies, no gifties from me, my guy, our families, most of our friends.
Bumper sticker? GONE!
Teeshirt? Donated to the homeless.
Mailings? Sent back to sender.
Buh-bye!
Mark
@Lukas P.: I agree. No more money for HRC.

NO MO Bumper Bling: @Brian NYC: Cold winter day, some rubbing alcohol or “Goo be gone,” a good scraper, and that sticker slides riiiight off.
Now, let’s be honest –you’re cleverer than I. Think of a new bumper sticker! Please.
@MARK: thanks for the shout out. Be well.

I haven’t denuded the equal sticker off of my car, nor have I given my HRC Tee Shirts away, because they are thick and nice, but truly, I’m too embarrassed to wear “Obama” shirts out and about, so they’ve been turned into dust rags and metal polishing tools. Obama is such a tool.

Joe is the ugly girl who only gets invited to a party on the condition they bring a case of beer and stay outside.
