3D-Porn Director Dominic Ford Launches Adult Magazine for iPad

The lightning-fast growth of technology over the past decade has irrevocably altered how pornography is produced, distributed and consumed. The interwebs certainly put a stake in the heart of dead-tree porn periodicals, but now there’s a new twist: a dirty mag for your iPad.

Launching this month, Adult magazine is the brainchild of 3D-porn director/producer Dominic Ford (Whorrey Potter and the Sorcerer’s Balls), who serves as editor-in-chief of the new venture.

Adult is dedicated to all things gay, including porn,” explains Ford, who says it’s just like other e-mags except, “ours includes hardcore photo spreads and videos.”  He tells Queerty that, “users can take quizzes, swipe through photo galleries, watch movies and sign up for free trials to the porn sites they’re reading about from within the magazine itself.”

Beyond the porn content, though, Ford says monthly issues will also include erotic fiction, horoscopes, advice columns and other lifestyle content. He intends for the magazine to pay for itself with advertising. (For now, its free and available only on the iPad.)

“I am really trying to make this be a different animal from a print magazine or a blog,” he explains. “I think readers want more curated content. Porn is oversaturated—I want a magazine that has a unified tone, not just a hodgepodge of articles.”

The first issue includes an interview with French porn god Francois Sagat (above) but Ford is clear that Adult is more than just a skin mag. “We’ll be interviewing RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants and talking about music and other topics that appeal to any gay man,” he says. “You really can read this magazine just for the articles and skip past all the hot guys.”

You could—but why would you?
