The other night I made a joke about a blow job. My male followers enjoyed it. So I then went on to joke about women receiving the same. Some how they turned a simple joke about oral sex into a anti gay statement. I have nothing against people who choose and alternative life. Style in fact iv publicly stated my mom loved women. It funny how people think negative statements are news worthy but positive statements are not worthy of coverage. Access Hollywood for got to put laughing out loud lol that was at the end of that statement.
—50 Cent tweets that he wasn’t being anti-gay when he wrote “If you a man and your over 25 and you don’t eat pu**y just kill your self damn it. The world will be a better place. Lol.” C’mon, nobody noticed the “LOL”?! [via]
James Davis
Looks as if he also hates grammar and proper spelling.
RLS
The joke was about the taboo against oral sex among straight black guys, not a reference to gay teens killing each other. I can’t believe I’m defending 50 cent, but you guys bend over backwards to portray blacks as homophobes every chance you get, and it’s getting pretty tiresome.
Bill
Dear Black Men, (both straight and gay alike)
Please deal with your sexual hang-ups. They make you, as a whole, look like idiots.
Thank You,

@RLS: Reading it first it sounds really bad, after “getting” what hes trying to say (my translation “If you’re a straight guy over 25 and you are “too much of a man” to give your female sexual partner oral pleasure, then you’re pathetic). It really isn’t that bad, can probably agree with him, but the man needs to let his assistant read his shit before he post it.
Ryan
Dear Bill, you’re a bigot and you look like an idiot. Thank you, Normal People.
Michael C
@James Davis: He’d have to of those things to hate them.
GaryG
Not that I care either for or about this has-been, but once again, there go the uninformed breeders stating that we “choose an alternative lifestyle” (please excuse me if i’ve spelled everything correctly)
Charlie
I was agreeing with him up until the bit about how we choose our alternative lifestyles. I got that he was basically saying that straight men need to learn to go down on the ladies. But then he went ahead and said that. Help me help you, 50!
edgyguy1426
@RLS: If you were a gay teen that idolized 50cent and read that Tweet, alone and (allegedly) out of context, what would YOU think? I don’t read all the tweets of people I follow, I don’t have that much free time.
“If you a man and your over 25 and you don’t eat pu**y just kill your self damn it. The world will be a better place. Lol.
In light of the spate of teen suicides, it seems like he’s tacitly endorsing them. We’ve seen Eminem spout homophobia and been on his case, too, but this backpedaling fucktard who makes his living with words doesn’t understand the power of words, apparently.

@Bill:
Dear Bill, my racially obsessed yank. Please deal with your racial hang-ups. They make you and rest of US gay white men, look like bigger idiots.
The world has moved on since fifties.
By constantly bringing in ethnicity or race (as US preferred terminology) in every single disscusion. It’s not going to work in favour of LGBT agenda.
You fighting ignorance with ignorance.
On personal note. The thought of being gay and black in US, my good! I cant imagine what kind crap you guys have to deal with.
Thank You.

I think we are all feeling a little touchy right now… not going to go on a “I was always in 50-cent’s camp” lie, but I am going to just focus away from the pop/rap guy, and focus on WTF I can do for queer kids right now.
CONVERSATION CHAMBER
I’m glad your racist post was removed, Bull…I mean, Bill.
Jay
50-cent’s posting is so incoherent that the “Lol” can’t possibly stand out among the punctuation, grammar and syntax errors.
touchydpad
Dear Fiddy Cent,
Despite whatever context your tweet may have come from (oral sex joke, anti-gay or otherwise), your explanation of “I did not make an anti-(insert minority group) joke. I have stated my mother is (insert minority group). Therefore, I am not anti-(insert minority group).” fails to demonstrate any sort of sincerity or acknowledgment towards your being accused of bigotry.
P.S. ‘Lol’ is not an acceptable retraction of said statement.

This guy is an asshole… he is worried he wont sell a CD is the only reason he is trying to claim he is an idiot… fuck him! Encourage him to shoot himself in the head just like he said he’d do (put this bastard to sleep already).

Stay in school kids!

This ass is just trying to find out of the GLBT coummunity is as stupid as Obama and the Democrats say we are… He wants to sell his CD’s… give this bastard a gun or show him to the nearest bridge and lets hope he jumps or shoots himself in the head before he demeans another human being with his BS!
Chris H
I also can’t believe I’m defending 50 cent, but I do believe this was in reference to straight black men, and it has been taken out of context.
It lacked tact, obviously, but still, it wasn’t a direct gay attack like his dumb comment about shooting up a gay wedding.
jason
Keep digging a hole for yourself, 50 Cent. You’re your own worst enemy.
JDE97
His comment was “probably” taken OOC, but considering Fiddy’s history of teasing and taunting gays…the comments themselves (which if you think about it, would INCLUDE gay men, even if not exclusively)…and the raw nerves from the six young men who in the last month did what 50 encouraged (kill themselves)…this all leaves a VERY bad taste. Get off Twitter, 50, please. You lose a toe every time you tweet.
In the meantime tell your apprentices at Vitamin Water to lighten up on using Ajax as an ingredient.
alan brickman
hey 50… stand up and be a real man..and help stop gay teen suicide…a real man would do so…

I’m not even sure where people are getting “straight black men from” beyond the whole made up “anti-gay” sentiment.
Seems like he’s talking to straight men period.
If you’re a straight man and don’t pleasure your woman in return kill yourself. It’s obviously what he’s saying.
Then again Queerty also believes black churches preach homophobia when most don’t mention homosexuality at all.
If you know nothing about black culture you really shouldn’t get in our business. Black people tend to be hush hush about things that we don’t like or make us uncomfortable. Therefore most black people don’t speak about homosexuality one way or the other. It rarely comes up in conversation.
I have some homophobic family members, the most they ever say is “Stay away from, Soandso.” to young male members of the family.
Offensive? Yes. Right removing? No. Does it ruin YOUR day? No, they’re not your family, and you’ll probably never meet them.
I hear more white people complaining about “black homophobia” than other black people who actually have to deal with it. Stop speaking on our behalf by insulting our friends and our family and often times even US the gay black people you feign concern for. You have no right, it makes you sound racist, and you come off more ignorant than the homophobes you’re so mad about.
John
yeah 50 cent! love this guy!
Mike
I’m not racist. Black people are as intelligent, sensitive, caring and thoughtful as everyone else.
But 50 Cent is a stupid nigger.
CONVERSATION CHAMBER
@Mike: As are you for saying that. You weren’t being ironic, witty or edgy with that dumbass remark.
Ken S
@RLS:
“[…] you guys bend over backwards to portray blacks as homophobes every chance you get, and it’s getting pretty tiresome.”
Or how about people “bend over backwards” to portray people who say homophobic-sounding things as homophobes? Because whether someone is black or white, if I hear a stranger say what comes across as “any man who isn’t into women should kill themselves” (which is presumably how a vast number of people took it), I would think they were advocating gay people commit suicide. Because they think “the world would be better off” without ‘fags.’
And when someone makes their living in the public eye ‘sculpting’ language, one expects them to have some minimum degree of skill or artistry in speaking. It’s *reasonable* to assume that when they say (or ‘tweet’) something, that they are aware of what they’re saying and how it’s likely to be interpreted. He’s made millions and millions of dollars off of writing lyrics; it sounds disingenuous (at best) for him to plead that he didn’t know how it could be received. It’s his job to say things to a desired effect.
So if people have an issue with him saying something that sounds ignorant and bigoted, *maybe* it has less (or nothing) to do with ethnicity and more (or everything) to do with someone who has a very big roof over his head because he presumably knows exactly how to say exactly what he means to say, and what he said offended people.
AdonisOfFire
@CONVERSATION CHAMBER:
LOL, Look at little Miss Uppity having to stick up for other ethnicities. Bitch, take a seat.

@Hilarious: As someone “who knows about black culture”, you obviously would know of the taboo amongst black men against eating pussy. It’s been acknowledged by so many people, usually comedians, it’s not even controversial. White guys don’t usually have such qualms about muff munching, and considering he knows his audience is largely black men, I think it’s pretty obvious he was targeting straight black guys.
And you, as a black gay man, should feel compelled to educate the gay community about black issues, and the black community about gay issues. It’s just those types of socioculturally straddling individuals who can really enlighten and provoke change.
Michael
He be over 25? LOL
Blackwatch
@Veritas: We have to deal with hearing “I’m not into Black guys” alot and its fucking annoying.
ewe
He objectifies women in addition to bashing gay people.
J T
@Hilarious: You’re entitled to feel whatever you want about how your culture handles what you have admitted it doesn’t like and doesn’t feel comfortable with. Not liking something and not feeling comfortable with it is a wing of homophobia, incidentally, regardless of whether you tell your kids to keep away from someone without telling them why or you tell them to keep away from them and fill their heads with traumatic concepts.
The bottom line is that if so-and-so they’re supposed to keep away from is a pedophile, they should turn him in, and if he’s just some “normal” gay guy, then that’s further establishing the disconnect between kids in painful, mortal quandries because their community can’t handle their sexuality on the one side and those gay adults that might otherwise be responsible role models or simply an understanding and nonjudgemental listener if they weren’t stigmatized from turning to, and turning into, the weirdo nobody’s supposed to go near. I’m sure many gay children, and that’s 18 or 13 or 8, are killing themselves not because they never had a clue there were any gay guys in their family or community or school, but because turning to the family/neighborhood pariah for their psyche-building isn’t really the point of learning to deal with who you might be in the world. I think the point is these kids and their families and peers have set their sights higher than outcast, and until those black families and neighborhoods can separate the pedophiles from the gay men, both in reality and in their own minds, the phenomenon you speak of is part of the problem, and not the mitigating explanation you present it as.
You and I have more in common than you’d think, because WASPs pretty much handle homosexuality the same way. Opprobrium, general refusal to talk directly about being gay, the occasional comment about how this one or that one isn’t someone you should take as a role model or friend. It’s not really so unique, and it’s not really so harmless, as you make it out to be. When we stop defending our clan and actually see where this move puts your player in the game and what he’s dealing with there, we can see that it’s the approach, the failure, the look, and not the race or the color of the person who poisons your mind with it. Because the straight kid grows up to fear and mistrust and hand that attitude down to the next generation, while the gay kid, well, he may in some ways embrace the “queer” outsider aspect (which doesn’t necessarily help us in terms of equality) but in other ways (and to different degrees with different individuals) internalize the fear, mistrust and sense of “wrongness” about himself. Which brings us to this horrible place we are with gay youth suicides every other week and blaming it all on “the other”, which every group always does. Yes, the other is at fault here, but so are we, for accepting and defending the cultural stigmas that enable this atmosphere of fear and loathing and superiority/inferiority.
To the 50 Cent thing, any time you say one group doesn’t deserve to live, or should kill themselves, it’s reinforcing somebody else’s opinion that a different group should die as well. So as I wrote somewhere else, if straight men who don’t do X with their women fall into that category, what about gay guys who do or don’t do Y or Z? It’s not funny, it’s perpetuating violence and dehumanization because of something you choose to do in bed, and as a gay man I have to let myself realize and say that’s wrong in that instance if I want a straight man to defend my rights to live because of what I do or don’t in bed.
Hilarious
@J T: Well my Grandmother is one of those church going homophobes in the “black church” who people here like to call names. She dotes on me and I love her to death regardless of how she feels about my sexuality.
So just like the way most white people aren’t specifically bashing “whites” when speaking negatively about homophobes I’d appreciate it if black people got the same verbiage.
People talk about black homophobes like they’re savage monsters and white homophobes like normal human beings.
There’s a huge difference and until it’s addressed I would fiercely defend “black homophobes” because at the end of the day people still look at me and see a black man not a gay one. I’m not letting history repeat itself and having people refer to me or my future children like we’re animals rather than human beings deserving of respect.
Just look at the difference in hostility between black homophobia articles and white homophobia articles.
daseekah
oh gosh 50 cent is such a douche
JoeyO'H
I feel 50 Cent is responsible for how he is portrayed. He is responsible for himself, what he says and what he does.
What’s fascinating to me is people like 50 Cent are so vocal with their anti-gay feelings that via tweeting or facebook, that I question why are they so vocal and hateful. Let’s face it, it’s not the first time 50 Cent has made anti-gay slurs and comments.
More than meets the eye.
It makes me very curious as to why he says what he says and what he really is trying to hide. Usually people like him that are so public about their feelings of hate toward others have something else to hide, like wrestling with their own sexual identity. It’s no secret that there is a famous rapper who is gay. Maybe it’s him as he tries to hetero it up.
50 Cent is just another casualty of his own fame as a washed up rapper-performer in dire need of PR who is deeply hiding something inside of him.
SJYNYC
This is so freakin’ silly. I don’t even like him and to me its plain to see his comments where about heterosexual men who don’t “return the favor” when when women give them oral service.
Stop looking for dramas that aren’t there.
Sexy Rexy
I can’t stand 50 Cent at all. He says he accepted the fact that he had a bi/lesbian mother, but in that same interview, he said that he didn’t trust gay MEN, IIRC.
At the same time, there is an element, a huge one, of racism in the gay community. I’m not talking about “GWM SEEKS SAME” – that is a matter of personal preference most of the time. I’m talking in everyday life. But that is a whole different thread.
gina
This is the moron who also said if he were able to vote (he can’t because he’s a convicted felon) he would have voted for GW Bush. That he’s a homophobe is old news.

Fifty Cents has just been devalued to two bits.
David Ehrenstein
@Hilarious: Well here’s a black person complaining about black homophobia. When I came out to my family half of them stopped speaking to me.
It was the happiest day of my life.
Doug Morrison
He aint worth 50 cents
Kirk
Aren’t all the rappers on the down low anyway? wth.
Hilarious
@David Ehrenstein: That happens to white people too and other people of all colors.
It’s not black exclusive.
It also doesn’t explain the rabid animosity aimed specifically at black homophobes and not white homophobes who’ve raised millions of dollars towards stripping gay men and women of our rights.
We gay black people have to deal with “black homophobia” not anyone else. Black people aren’t organizing groups across the nation with the intention of hating others. White people on the other hand have for centuries, and it’s still continuing on today.
So I ask you why is the venom aimed at a black woman who says something homophobic(for instance Sherri Shepard) but not a white man who is “attractive”(in quotes for a reason) and murders a gay black professor(Don Belton)?
Shepard’s name is dragged through the mud on Queerty. In Belton’s article he was blamed on many sites for his own death and accused of trying to rape the guy and Queerty never bothered to post a follow up to let us know if his murder is behind bars or not.
Every single hate crime committed by a black person has a follow up on Queerty. Why isn’t Don Belton’s killer worthy of a follow up? Hell the article didn’t say anything about “white homophobia” or the “white church” being the cause of some closeted bigot murdering a well known professor with whom he was carrying on a relationship and was clearly caught by his girlfriend.
It’s not about the existence of black people who are homophobic. We know they exist. Just like we know white people who are homophobic exist.
It’s about the white fountain and the colored fountain.

50 cent is wealthy beyond comprehension. He sold vitamin water for an enormous some, so the argument about him worrying about record sales is false.
Just wanted to add that.

Go 50 fuck queers

Here’s a point I think people are missing… 50 Cent made a generalization. We can all fight about whether he meant straights who don’t like pussy, or gays, but ultimately he only said that guys that don’t eat pussy should kill themselves. That includes BOTH straights AND gays – why? Because he made a generalization. His statement applies across the board regardless of his intent, because he worded his statement poorly.
alan brickman
Does anyone on this site buy his music??? so does he really care??…

@alan brickman: I don’t buy from Target either but i do use their free sponsorship to MOMA so… yes it matters.

His words are his words. He needs to take responsibilty for them. ANY sane person wpuld interpret his tweet as a hateful anti-gay comment.
If that was not what he intended to convey he should have clarified his statement, pure and simple. He did not.
gina
@Hilarious:
While I agree with you there is a double standard by white gay people about condemning homophobic remarks made by people of color (although I’ve certainly heard lots of complaints against Maggie Gallagher and people of her ilk) I think defending Sherri Shepherd is absurd. The woman makes a lot of money for her opinions alone (she’s certainly not that funny) on a highly national, influential platform. Likewise, 50 Cent has a huge impact on young people and has made a fortune off of what he says. High profile people need to be held accountable for their homophobic statements. Pointing out racism in the gay community is important, but you’re barking up the wrong tree in this example.
Theo
50 cents? what a joke. He should be called Zero cent. That what he’s worth for.
SJYNYC
@gina:
****High profile people need to be held accountable for their homophobic statements.****
I still don’t see what Homophobic statement was made. He was speaking of heterosexual men that don’t go down on women when said women make the effort of going down on them.
Someone else pointed out “he should be more sensitive considering the increase of gay teen suicides” (or something to that effect). What the hell makes you think that a rapper who doesn’t even vote is keeping up to date with news regarding gay suicides? And if he were, why the hell should it be in the fore-front of his mind considering all the other tragedies/sad tales that take place in the world?
I’m not a fan, I’m just finding it tedious when some gay people have nothing better to do LOOK for “homophobic remarks” that aren’t to b*tch and whine about, or get upset when it seems like their sexuality is not the 1st and only consideration in the thought processes of other people.
How dare he not take certain thing into account! How dare he not spend his time helping gay teens being bullied! (News flash, NO ONE should be bullied, gay or otherwise).
Like Carly Simon said: “I bet you think this song is about you…
(and yes, I’m gay.. just a tad tired of the whining and the hunt for things to whine about).
SJYNYC
Oh, one more thing I just noticed. The “provocative” headline says “non-pussy loving guys….”, while his tweet mentioned guys who don’t EAT pussy. Big difference. He was speaking to HETEROSEXUAL men who don’t go “downtown”.
Yet, the headline goes out of its way to allude otherwise. Blatant bias AND sensationalism.
MBear
If you a man and your over 15 and you care enough about what OTHER people do in their bedroom to say they should kill themselves, just kill your self damn it. The world will be a better place. Lol.

@Bill: Dear Bill, please stop being a good argument for birth control.

Quite ironic how everyone who is feeling all high and mighty about their own grammar and knowledge of language make such little effort to interpret the semantics of 50s statements. It’s almost as if belittling everything about the artist as a black male speaker of English allows one to avoid the issue of linguistic interpretation all together. How convenient.
