So what stage of coming out is 90210‘s Teddy if he’s gotten to the point where he’s calling the guys he slept with “faggot”? That sounds like anger, right? (Possible spoilers ahead.)
Last week it was definitely denial: After waking up drunk and only later realizing he hooked up with Kyle Riabko’s Ian, Trevor Donovan’s character refused to believe what went down. Last night, he took to calling his butt buddy — who’s now his dance choreographer — the F-word. It was all that hip gyration, me thinks. Teddy’s girlfriend Silver calls him on turning “into a homophobic jerk,” Teddy blames it on his “frustration,” and then we find ourselves in the middle of a fireman strip tease, and then they get into a lovers quarrel!
I love The CW.

No one in that show looks young enough to play high school students, I mean COME ON!!! And to the fight, I like how at the end of it they still had amazing hair, I know Teddy has about 100lbs on me but I would still go for weak spots(nut shots and biting allowed)

I take it none of you watched Saved By the Bell, the original 90210, One Tree Hill, Felicity, or any other show aimed at teens that featured people “too old” to be playing whatever characters they were.
Get over it already, it’s not that big a deal.
I really don’t even notice it until I read this crap over and over. I think some of you just really like saying it.
I mean seriously post some pics of yourselves if you REALLY think you look better than that guy. I’d love to see them.
Otherwise I’m gonna keep being more than satisfied with the show and ya’ll can keep hating…and pretending.

@Black Pegasus: I think he’s one of the hottest guys on the show, but I know what you mean though. They cast dudes who look like grown men in every role but his and the guy who plays Navid.
To make matters worse they’ve had characters that are supposedly the same age basically refer to him like he’s younger than them and he doesn’t say anything back to them.
The guy who plays Navid also gets this kind of underlying bigotry in the form of being called unattractive.
What can you expect from the CW though? I mean they merged with UPN and then proceeded to cancel every single black show that UPN had on the air.
Bonnie is one of the most popular characters if not the most popular character on the show The Vampire Diaries, the higher ups have even acknowledged this, yet she seems to be getting less airtime because of this. They don’t want her to be front and center, they don’t want fans to like her more than the main character, so now they keep her off-screen until people forget about her.
At least with 90210 the emasculation of Dixon aside the show itself is watchable.

I think his use of the word “faggot” represents a general resentment to having a label put on his forehead by the gay category queens.
I find that gay people like to put people in boxes sexuality-wise. You’re this, you’re that…it’s quite a strange eagerness to have everything and everybody placed into a particular part of the shelf.

The whole reason they use older actors is that there are a lot restrictions on actors who are under 18. There are school considerations and certain subject matters that under age actors would not be allowed do because their parents would object. Also it would be hard to have a regular or reoccurring gay character using an actor who is younger than 18 on network TV. I do wish they could have used someone for Teddy who was a tad bit younger looking but I think Trevor is very cute and is doing well.

@Hilarious: I did watch Saved by the Bell and the original 90210. The only one on 90210 that wasn’t that convincing as a teenager was the older chick with the glasses. The rest it was a little more believable than this. Oh and on Saved by the Bell, they were teenagers at least in some part of the life of the show. They didn’t start out 33 and playing an 18 year old.

@NateB79: Everyone on 90210 besides the guy who played David looked considerably too old to pass for a high school student. Every single person they have cast now looks younger than they did back then hence the reason why these complaints are beyond silly.
I watched Saved by the Bell before it was even called Saved by the Bell. On Good Morning Miss Bliss they were already in High School playing Junior High. By Saved by the Bell they were already juniors or seniors when it began.
At no point in time were they actually playing their own ages on that show and it was very noticeable. No one looks like that in high school, I’m sure people wish they did though.
I really don’t even understand what you want to ogle actual teens for anyway.
This is guilt free pleasure here, a good third of the cast is older than I am, so I get to drool without worry.
That’s a good thing.

I expected more from the fireman segment…
