90210‘s Teddy Will Have A New Lover By Spring

Though you’ve been enjoying watching Trevor Donovan’s Teddy get his smooch on with Kyle Riabko’s Ian on 90210, prepare for some new match-making: Teddy is getting a new man. Because Riabko supposedly wants to free up his time moving into TV pilot season (and not because 90210‘s writers want to get rid of him), he’s exiting the show. But that isn’t the end of Teddy’s gayness!

Enter Freddie Smith, the actor who will play Marco and is described in casting sheets as a “hot, super-athletic, openly gay love interest,” according to Movieline. Look for him in February, when love is in the air.

And Teddy was supposed to be straight turned gay? honey, looking at his face one can tell that is a full time queen.

@AdonisOfFire: No, they had Teddy say he was always gay, he was just in denial.

I feel like I’m the only one who won’t miss Ian at all and as an added bonus Marco adds a little more color to the show.

Agreed. There’s a dearth of racialised homosexuality on television. And obviously just a dearth of racialisation in general on 90210.

Marco’s not the only one Teddy’s hooking up with… I just read sides from an upcoming 90210 featuring a new character named Tripp Wallison that Teddy went to school with in the past, and they end up making out (and, based on the stage directions, seemingly more).
