Last week out entertainer Steve Grand revealed all he wanted for Christmas. This week he delves even deeper into his psyche to tell fans about his recent struggle with sobriety. It’s been three and a half weeks so far, with just a few exceptions, he disclosed in a lengthy caption on a new shirtless pic posted to his Instagram account.
“Who would have thought that when you stop poisoning yourself every day with alcohol and fast food, and start doing cardio and sleeping at normal hours, that you actually start to feel and function better?” he asks.
Grand also predicts that 2016 will be a big year for him. Fingers crossed for you, big guy.
As a curious but fascinating afterthought, the singer also decided to bring up his lack of body hair, which he insists isn’t due to shaving or waxing.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
“I’m naturally a hairless cat,” he writes. “Send your #thoughtsandprayers – that I may grow chest hair. And not just in little circle forests around my nipples.”

In the words of a Czarina from Russia … “I like my men as i like my horses ….smooth and hairless!” Give thanks you don’t have to wax, Steve!! 🙂
Tom Hilton
You’re perfect just the way you are! God says so! ((((Hugs))))
Scott Ford
So wait….. He was looking really really good before, but was drinking too much and eating all the fast food….and looked like that. Life is unfair….
Hector Pagan
He’s so sexy!!ð???ð??

Good for you Steve. Good luck with everything. I think you will succeed with all you try. Happy New Year!

Are you in a relationship because you a quite the catch
enlightenone
Explains why he “loves” his ex-gay “therapist” and hanging out with porn “performers!” Makes sense now?

I do wish him all the best in his sobriety. Naturally hairless? Great. Love who you are.
Now, that Cliff-Notes-plus-dozen-hash-tags thing in Instagram that too many entertainers like to utilize? Please stop.
Kieran
Those perky nipples are screaming “I’m horny” in sign language.
William Armstrong
Im sorry but, this man lacks nothing!
Gothrykke
Don’t you dare report on him and post scantily clad pictures of him! He’s not a piece of meat for you to ogle, he’s a human being and a musician, dang it!
Mean while, he’s got some lovely shots of his bleached b-hole to go over before posting the finished product to his instagram.
Kenny Young
Oh yes. Bless your heart and your 3.5 weeks of (mostly) sobriety.
Kevin J Desmond
Ya Ya Ya …. like he’s so damn perfect, I see guys like him every single day. He’s just another gay clone of the gay clone before him. Sorry Steve … you do nothing for me and yes I have seen and heard better.
Nick Lamphier
He so hot
Brian Smith
Kinda sober? For those of us struggling with addiction, we know that the only way to beat and treat this sinister disease is to abstain. Please don’t patronize your fans by only being “a little” sober and then squeal with smug delight of that accomplishment. If your addiction is relevant enough to talk about, then as a performer in the spotlight for lgbtq, be a real example.
BigG
He’s not sober by a longshot. Just another muscled up narcissist.

@Jonny Joe: I seriously doubt Steve is as smooth and hairless as he claims he is. He has dark hair, thick brows and a noticeable mustache shadow in spite of being otherwise clean shaven. I’ve noticed it becoming a thing for guys to insist they’re naturally hairless yet their five o’clock shadow by the end of night and all the $ they’ve spent on laser hair removal says that’s not really true.
DarkZephyr
Well Steve, sorry Buddy, but I am ogling your pic right now, so if your goal is to no longer be ogled over your body…this wasn’t the best way to go about it. *drool*
DarkZephyr
@Kevin J Desmond: I don’t get guys like you. Judging someone over looks is never good, even if you are judging somebody for being attractive.
Doughosier
I love him. He’s gorgeous and a very good singer. We need more openly gay role models for young gay people!
jrh311
He’s good looking. I enjoy his music. But his arrogance and self-obsession is a real turn-off. Some genuine humility would be refreshing. This “I’m making some good changes in my life and gaze at my glorious abs” is not genuine.
Peter Gaffney
He’s a complete asshole.

Yacketa yacketa yacketa. Why does everyone need to talk about their addictions and struggles with sobriety? Honestly! How about maintaining a little mystery and getting your shit together without broadcasting it to the world.
I couldn’t help reading the David Foster Wallace-esque caption to find a gem in addition to tackling his sobriety and wasn’t disappointed by his analysis of his photo (pump, downlit, posed abs) AND his musings on chest hair.
@Gothrykke:
Bleached b-hole indeed.
Michael Hunter
Philip Jones
i do not understand why is everone is on the acttack wih him !
Brian
When I look at all these hairless gay-identifiers today, I want to be transported back to the 1970’s where Burt Reynolds ruled and all men advertised their hairy chests with open-neck shirts.
Glücklich
@Brian:
You’re not the only one who wants you to be transported to the 70’s. One-way.
Phillip Bernal
I have no idea who this person is, and I don’t care..
liquidskyny
seems like his whole um “career?” now is just being shirtless rather than music – one album, hardly any more performances aside from 2 in february and his website is out of date announcing his album last year. He’s no Adam Lambert actually having a music career at this point.
moldisdelicious
@Doughosier:
Role model, he is not. He suffers the same problem that sadly way too many gay men have. Your body and physique can only take you so far before people start to see who you are. It’s clear as day that this guy is in love with himself and loves attention. Complains about being sexually objectified by media publications one minute saying it’s hurting his career but turns around doing the same shit to himself the next.
Dude wants to be popular among a bunch of guys who are lost instead of realizing that none of this is necessary in order to be happy with one self. It is not the next person’s job to make you into somebody. I feel bad for him for thinking that he needs to look for validation for people who dont respect him only when it comes to getting an erection. I’m so over this idiotic judge all gay guys by how they look according to the twisted standards and norms that some lost guys are pushing. I really don’t see anything impressive about the muscle man or whatever beautiful bs that is oversaturated in today’s culture. This is not impressive.
I think the biggest turn off is that he is acting entitled and expects us to give him credit for having such a physique or looking a certain way. Instead of working on his music career and improving his music, he goes about doing this and whatever. So sad.

3.5 weeks of being (mostly) sober is nothing to toot your horn about. Tell us all about it when you’ve gotten a year of complete sobriety. The real changes happen after five.
onthemark
Three and a half weeks, OMG! But that’s a bad idea. It’s hard even to listen to country music without being drunk, never mind making it. He needs to start drinking again before he ruins his career.
robertkalin
3.5 weeks with a few exceptions? Sorry, exceptions don’t count in sobriety (and I speak with 20 years of continuous sobriety).
Grreg Morse
Looks like he goes to LA Fitness.. and he obviously knows what he doing there. Kudos to him.
Justin Hall
Taylor H. Brunwald but what about his music?….
Noé R. García
Yawn.
Avery Alvarez
Yeah, Steve is really hot and I wouldn’t mind a few tumbles in the sheets with him.
But he tends to get way preachy sometimes.
Aromaeus
Yeah you shouldn’t talk about your sobriety when you actually haven’t been completely sober throughout. It’s a constant struggle and he should just acknowledge that.
devonmw
“This week he delves even deeper into his psyche to tell fans about his recent struggle with sobriety.”
“3.5 weeks of sobriety (with a few exceptions)”
So… the guy decides to give up alcohol (with exceptions) and this is a struggle with sobriety? Talk about an insult to those actively struggling with alcoholism.
Why is this even relevant? Some pretty boy decides to give up drinking and junk food and that’s news? Give me a break.
capeguyz
No need for the chest hair…perfect just the way you are!!!
Doughosier
@moldisdelicious: He’s in show business! No one criticizes Justin Timberlake or other pop singers for posing shirtless and marketing their sex appeal. Same with countless singers, male and female. SG had the courage to be openly gay before he was well known. He could have had a bigger career if he had stayed in the closet but he chose to be himself. For that he should be applauded. I suspect jealousy is behind some of his naysayers.
moldisdelicious
@Doughosier:
Seriously, have you heard dudes music? The only reason he even generated a buzz is because he was marketed as the so called first country gay singer. You really think he was going anywhere beyond youtube with that shit? Especially when the video was basically softcore porn featuring a porn star. His act went viral for a few weeks but got old.
paul dorian lord fredine
@Phillip Bernal: and yet you felt the need to comment.
judysdad
Gorgeous and seems like a truly nice guy. I rate him a 9.5 out of ten. The only thing keeping him from 10-status–for me–you guessed it…body hair!
odowd4sure
Very poor role model! Shouldn’t performers use the correct forms in which to showcase their talent? So, in this case, we obviously see where his talent lies and my guess is that this pic is as good as it gets. Sorry, Mr. Grand, but I’m going to have to start addressing you as Mr. Not So Grand! Either you are sober, in which case congratulations – or you are not, in which case, sorry, please seek help, and shame on you for lying! Some of us can see through the thin veneer, if only you could see what you look like from outside, you may understand. It is never to late for recovery, true recovery and after all, the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem and I mean with drugs and alcohol, not your career because we can clearly see where that is headed, if only you could see it 🙁 I hope you get the help you need and soon!
odowd4sure
@moldisdelicious: Amen!
Rude Drew
@Brian Smith: It’s not a fucking disease and acting as such is just a crutch to not actually take responsibility for your own actions and lack of will power.
jrh311
@Rude Drew: It is a disease. You can catch it from open liquor bottles… No it actually is, but just not by the definition you’re thinking of. The definition of “disease” is actually more broad.
Dave084
Steve, don’t pray for a forest to obstruct that magnificent view. You have a perfect little nature trail leading to an oasis that would surely bring new life and joy to anyone lucky enough to visit there.
Texas Guy
Oh my God, Steve! You are such a babe! Take good care of yourself and there’s nothing you can’t do. Big Texas hug…

Lame…self absorbed and no cause, but for himself.
