Gay-for-pay adult film star and aspiring hip hop artist Bryan Silva gave his first and only jailhouse interview over the weekend, and it was strange, to say the least.

“Free me!” Silva begged a reporter from a local NBC affiliate. “That’s all I have to say. Thank you.”

25-year-old Silva’s troubles began on January 3 when he allegedly threatened his 17-year-old girlfriend with an illegal firearm.

The girlfriend called 9-1-1 at around 6 a.m. When police arrived at the house, Silva barricaded himself inside, prompting authorities to dispatch a crisis negotiation team. A day-long stand off ensued during which Silva posted bizarre live videos to his Facebook page.

At 3 p.m. police fired tear gas into the home, prompting Silva to run outside shirtless with his hands in the air and his pants around his knees. He was arrested and charged with abduction and illegal possession of a firearm.

Speaking to NBC last weekend, Silva shrugged off the incident, calling the whole thing a simple misunderstanding.

“It’s a big mix-up, big confusion,” he said. “Free me!”

When pressed about what led up to kidnapping his girlfriend, Silva refused to answer. Instead he just kept saying “free me” over and over again.

Silva is currently being held in solitary confinement at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February.
