Elementary school parents in Wilmington, Delaware are expressing outrage after being emailed a sarcastic anti-bullying form labeled a “Hurt Feelings Report.” The form mockingly labels victims of bullying as “whiners.”
The document includes questions like “Do you require a tissue for tears?” and “Is there permanent feeling damage?” Reasons for filing the report include “I am a wimp” and “I want my mommy.” A blank spot for details of the incident includes the instructions “Tell us in your own sissy words how your feelings were hurt, as if anyone cared.”
School officials, however, seem to brushing the incident off as an accident, saying it was “not an official document of or the Brandywine School District.”
“This was an embarrassing mistake, but it was just that – a mistake,” spokeswoman Alexis Andrianopoulos said in an email to USA Today. “It should not have happened, and we apologize for the error.”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Anti-bullying efforts have been stepped up recently after several youths took their own lives after being tortured in school. Delaware recently created a “bullying ombudsman” position to assist families who have a child being bullied in school.

It boggles my MMR that someone who works at a school could be so dumb as to send this out.

@Jennifer Mercury:
MMR? Measles-Mumps-Rubella?
I think it’s kind of funny BUT it’s a big optics problem. Were this to happen in my office, after having a chuckle, I’d hunt down the responsible party to let him/her know it doesn’t look like they have enough work to do and perhaps their responsibilities and position need to be “reassessed” with a corresponding “adjustment” in compensation.

Sounds like the typical crap they get away with in Elementary schools including but not limited to various forms of molestation.
And then people wonder why kids become screwed up adults.
CoolBeansandChili
This form started out as military joke(or teaching tool). It’s unfortunate that it found it’s way into a school
Masc Pride
This is actually rather hilarious.
Andrianopoulo–try saying that 3x fast.

@Masc Pride: Shut up you whining bitch.

What needs to be considered is that the person who emailed that purported “report” is the real whiner..he’s masking his feelings through anger and bullying. Does the poor widdle School District and Elementary school wanna tissue for their fragile hurt widdle bigotted feelings? Oh, call a Whaaaaambulance, you precious widdle bigots.
Dakotahgeo
@Glücklich: Right on the mark! Any educational administrator faced with this would talk to the individual, call a special meeting of the school board and this joker would be packin’ and movin’ within hours of his/her dismissal!
@woodroad34: Also right on the mark correct!

Can we stop calling it bullying and call it what it is? It’s harassment, sexual harassment, stalking, slander, libel, assault, etc. These things aren’t tolerated in the adult world and child victims shouldn’t have to tolerate them either. It’s time the parents and school that are enabling underaged predators be held financially liable for their incompetence. if the police refuse to do anything; then filing lawsuits and hitting schools and parents where it hurts will change things.

“Embarrassing mistake?” Seriously? This was no “mistake,” someone planned this and carried it out.

These are the same officials that will make excuses if there is a school shooting or stabbing by fed-up victims of bullying.
Masc Pride
@scotshot: Upset about something?
Invert
@oddchild1: wow perfectly put.
pastafazool
shows what they really think. SUE their ass off!
oops! it was a mistake… that will COST you dearly…

Very bad attempt at humor about a very serious problem. Kids have a hard enough navigating their way through elementary and middle school without adults showing this sort of attitude about them and their feelings. Not funny!
