Searched for: sean delonas

Home to racist and homophobic cartoonist Sean Delonas (among other atrocities), the New York Post leads an article today with: "A thugged-out pack of transvestite teens has been targeting women walking into a star-studded West Village building, snatching their purses and using stolen credit cards to buy wigs and women's clothes, sources said yesterday." Or, in normal people language: Black men in wigs. Bringing the story full-circle is that one of the suspect's surnames is "Faggins," which surprisingly the Post didn't even touch.

Post Repeats Unfunny Trans Joke

Sean Delonas must have drawer's block.

The NY Post cartoonist has taken two shots at pregnant trans man Thomas Beatie. The first came back in April, when Beatie first burst on the scene. And now, inspired by news of Beatie's forthcoming delivery date, Delonas again turned his attention to the baby daddy.

Too bad Delonas couldn't stretch his imagination, huh?

Delonas Takes On Takei

New York Post cartoonist Sean Delonas took aim at homo actor George Takei, who will soon marry his long-time lover in California, not space.

Some gay folk aren't pleased with Spock's shock, of course, but this sketch is fairly tame considering Delonas' track record.

Thanks for the heads up, Good As You.

McG's Poverty Inspires Poking

Jim McGreevey drew a few guffaws yesterday after the former New Jersey Governor alleged that he's too poor to pay his soon-to-be ex-wife Dina alimony. And, of course, New York Post cartoonist Sean Delonas used the occasion to poke fun at the Episcopal priest hopeful. At least McGreevey's in bed with a human.

On a related note, McGreevey's apparently always been cheap. He had Dina pay for their wedding and a large portion of their honeymoon.

McG Divorce: An Imagined Ending...

Hallelujah! Today marks day one of the McGreeveys' divorce proceedings.

The majority of the action will revolve around whether or not former NJ Governor Jim McGreevey committed fraud by hiding his homosexuality from wife, Dina. Dina says "yes," but Jimmy Boy reminds her of their mutual trysts with a campaign driver. At stake: the duo's definitely doomed daughter, Jacqueline.

As you can see, cartoonist Sean Delonas offered an imagined ending to this drama. Sadly, we fear the McGreeveys won't stop until poor Jacqueline's nothing but tabloid pulp.

NY Post Restrains Self In Beatie 'Toon

NY Post 'toonist Sean Delonas has garnered gay ire for his unflattering portrayal of a super-sized Rosie O'Donnell and a sheep-loving Jim McGreevey, so we're surprising his take on pregnant trans man Thomas Beatie actually isn't offensive.

Old dogs can learn new tricks!

Burning Questions For Christine Quinn

Christine Quinn must be sweating right about now.

'Post' Takes Shot At Rosie

The New York Post's famously homophobic Sean Delonas offers this punchline for the Knicks sexual harassment scandal.

Now, we're not the biggest Rosie O'Donnell fans, but this is just fucked up. Sure, she's a big girl, but seriously…

Bercovici Not Down With "Toe-Tapper" Nickname

We hadn't noticed, but in today's Thomas Roberts item, the NY Post refers to him as a "toe-tapper". This, of course, would be a not-so-vague reference to lewd Larry Craig and his toilet cruising.

The paper's conflation of cruising and homosexuality perpetuates anti-gay stereotypes and straight man Jeff Bercovici ain't gonna take it:

It's far from the first time the Post has gone after gays: Page Six routinely refers to them as "swishy," and editorial cartoonist Sean Delonas includes a picture of a sheep in just about every cartoon about a gay subject — a not-so-veiled allusion to the canard linking homosexuality and bestiality. ([GLAAD] has complained about Delonas's spite, to little effect.)

Besides being vicious and utterly out of sync with the city it serves, the Post's little toe-tapping jab is also nonsensical: If the TV personality in question is seeking out sexual partners online, doesn't that suggest he doesn't need to resort to cruising bathrooms?

Good looking out, Mr. B – and, yes, the jab is nonsensical.

Bercovici's awaiting word a response from GLAAD. We'll keep you post-ed.

GLAAD Wants To Erase NY Post's "Anti-Gay Stereotypes"

GLAAD's getting all frothy and shit over NY Post's latest crack at gay American Jim McGreevey, pictured above.

In their screaming action alert, "NY Post Publishes Yet Another Gratuitous Vulgar Anti-Gay Cartoon," the gay watch dogs reminded enraged readers,

This not the first time that the New York Post has provided space for Sean Delonas to perpetuate dehumanizing anti-gay stereotypes. Two days after the New Jersey Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex civil unions in October 2006, Delonas depicted a man carrying a sheep and wearing a veil in front of a marriage license window. On October 5, in the wake of the Mark Foley scandal, Delonas illustrated Jim McGreevey comforting Foley while a sheep lay in bed in the background.

That one really was unfair. It should have been a 17-year old Congressional page.

Now GLAAD's calling all queers to call the NY Post and take them to task for their "tasteless anti-gay bigotry". Of course it's tasteless – it's Rupert Murdoch's NY Post! That's why people read it. Tasteless goes great with morning coffee.

'NY Post' Draws Logical Conclusions

Miss New Jersey Amy Polumbo may get to keep her crown after revealing the not-so-revealing blackmail shots, but New York Post wins our hearts for yet another send-up of former New Jersey governor, Jim McGreevey.

Artist Sean Delonas captured all of McGreevey's subtleties: the light loafers (or heels), excessive salivation and penchant for absolute insanity. It can't be homophobic if it's true.
