DUI is very serious. I could care less about his personal life, the DUI alone speaks for itself and his judgement. I don’t agree with him, but he has done one thing right – resigning. Now if he would take Sens Craig and Vitter there could be some credibility restored in Washington.

I agree totally with Alan Down in Florida @8. Fossella’s child should not be stigmatized by being referred to as a bastard, nor should his other children. Only the right-wing politician should be stigmatized for his hypocrisy, and perhaps the wife if she takes a public position to stand-by-my man and support his politics.
And Hells Kitchen Guy (@4) is right: it is embarassing for New Yorkers that this guy is from our city. But what’s worse is that there is a large concentration of people who think like him on Staten Island, the most conservative section of the city and the district Fossella represents. Perhaps it is wishful thinking that his secret affair would have been with another man, because he could be added to the list of closet-case politicians representing SI. There have been several, all but one of whom is/was Republican (at least among those I know about).

For people who seem so concerned that the effect of her parents public divorce on the McGreevy daughter I find it very offensive that you have referred to Mr. Fosella’s out of wedlock child as a bastard.
