Well, Adam Baldwin isn’t feeling SCOTUS. The actor/professional bummer, best-known for appearing in the TV series Firefly and the film Full Metal Jacket, has been in a Twitter frenzy for the better part of the day, firing off “witticisms” and criticisms such as these:

P.S. Baldwin—and various Supreme Court justices, from the looks of the dissents—are apparently totally unaware that this is not the first time the Supreme Court has overturned state-level bans on certain types of couples marrying. All prior marriages to this ruling will strengthen, remain, falter or fail completely on their own accord, by the sole decision of those involved.
Glenn Beck, Sean Hanity and Rush Limbaugh (but interestingly not much probably from Megan Kelly or Bill O’Reilly) will all have ratings bonanzas spewing their indignation and hate.
Most of Fox News, other than Shepard Smith, will be outraged, leading to endless offensive debates between Pundits, making wildly inaccurate and inappropriate predictions and proclamations.
Most Republican State Governors and/or Legislatures will move creatively or outright illegally to block Equal Marriage in their States.
Most Republicans, save most Californian, Log Cabin and all my Socially Progressive but Conservative friends, will be indignant about an “Activist Supreme Court unConstitutionally rewriting the Constitution”.
Most of the Conservative Right will exclaim how it is the End of America, the last nail in our coffin.
Most Evangelical Christians will preach about how “Gays are the cause of all [fill in blank of natural disaster, disease, or horror], and that since God created Adam & Eve, not Steve, any future [fill in blank of natural disaster, disease, or horror] will be because of God’s wrath over Equal Marriage.
Most Fundamentalist Christians will proclaim the Rapture and Tribulation are nye (or at least “soon”), having The End Times caused by Equal Marriage.
Those Christian Preachers who advocate killing LGBTQ people, won’t be allowed to.
Those Christian Preachers who promised to “set themselves on fire”, move elsewhere, close their churches or some other hyperbolic promise probably won’t.
Those Christians who promised to stop eating or divorce probably won’t.
Christianity or any other faith won’t be outlawed.
Members of the Clergy of my faith won’t be forced to perform marriages they don’t approve of unless they make money as a business doing so.
Christianity in America will remain, remaining or flattering on its own accord.
Oh, and the End Times, Rapture and Tribulation still will only be known to God – not even Jesus – as in accord with Jesus’ own words, not hastened by any singular event such as this – which would defeat that whole “thief in the night” idea anyhow.
And just to reiterate… The sky won’t fall in.
But in truth… Nothing has changed other than me and millions of my Fellow America LGBTQ siblings CAN GET MARRIED to their Partners all over Our Nation – and have the respect and dignity of our Unions be Equal to all others.
Which – in very real terms – will change nothing for anyone else other than those of us who celebrate our Right to this Union.

(Though a lot of what was formerly reserved for heterosexuals applies to us now : we’ll realize that it wasn’t the law of the land that prevented some guys from getting married.
