THE SHOT – Dig the semi-matching flame hairdos on Adam Lambert and his boyfriend Sauli Koskinen. Koskinen is a Finnish reality star and winner of Finland’s Big Brother 2007. He and Glambert attended the 2011 Los Angeles Equality Awards on Saturday, August 13 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. While there, they took this picture with a woman in red; but she was no match for their blazing platinum and raven pomps.

oriharakaoru
The “woman in red” is Adam’s mom, Leila Lambert. 🙂 She attended the awards with him and Sauli.
Trish
The woman is red is Adam’s mother.
Pep, Italy
Looking funky! Whatever rocks their boat, the rainbow comes in all colours!
Mark
His mom looks way too jersey shore. Adam looks hot, love the suit. His boyfriend is kinda sexy. Don’t love the hair but love those cheekbones.
slanty
BRB, going to Just Jared.
Lilly
Well, Sauli isn’t actually a new boyfriend. They met Nov. 6, 2010.
Sooo cute couple!
Jennifer
That’s Adam’s mom and she’s so sweet 🙂
Adam and Sauli are SO F*CKING HOT!
Thomas
My money is on Adam’s mother being the closest thing to a top in that photo.
meego
@Jennifer: So fucking hot? You don’t get around much, do you?
Tony
I like Adam Lambert and I think he could be an attractive man, but the punk/rock look he’s tries to pull off just doesn’t work for him. He really needs to get with a good stylist who will tell him the truth. And this top/bottom obsession you guys have is so 1970’s, imo. Any decent gay is versatile these days anyway.
Andey
@oriharakaoru:
Sheeesh!!!! The woman in red, it’s his MOTHER, LEILA!!!!
CarolCollins
@Thomas: That’s funny. Leila is awesome and loves Adam so much and he reciprocates. Nothing but good vibes from all three of these wonderful, fun people.
Cam
If I didn’t know better I would guess that both of those boys are homosexual.
arbiter
AMAZING! Your hair stands as if possessing a will of its own!!
Toby
wow too much fake tan overkill in this photo, orange is not an attractive skin color people.
JB
@Lilly
OK can I say you sound a little too over invested tbh. I take it you’re one of Adam’s ‘glamberts’ rather than an actual gay person.
Bryan
No idea how old his mom is, but whatever age it won’t be less than 35, so she looks AMAZING.
Chris
@Toby: Yes, the skin color was the first thing I noticed.
Is Lambert ready to be help our community? If he hasn’t changed his previous position, why are we helping him? His first album was a sub-par mishmash consisting of the refuse of other pop-stars.
Alex
Lambert is dating somebody from the trashiest famewhoring wannabes show ever? This really made me laugh.
Little Kiwi
adam is happy and has a boyfriend and supporting mother.
no wonder so many guys on here hate him so much.
he’s happy. has a boyfriend. has a supporting family. embraces a gender-nonconformist glam image.
basically, he has everything you wish you had, and is doing it in a way you’d never have the balls to do it.
keep hating on him. won’t make your own lives better 😉
Tim
@ Little Kiwi
*****GLAMBERT ALERT******
Are you lost? How can you possibly profess to know what the people on this site ‘wish they had’ when you sound like a 13 year old child. Try googling ‘Adam Lambert fan site’ or something. Jeez you glamberts are really embarrassing but always good for something to laugh at.
BTW shift key is your friend.
Jacki
Oh what is the matter with you people? He didn’t just “attend” this event and I can’t believe you are not aware of the award he was presented with yet all you can do is poke fun at him.
I see from this article and from some comments here that our gay community is still happily eating it’s own and sinking the boot into one of the nicest guys who’s ever been openly gay in the popular music scene.
@Chris Clearly you know nothing about Adam. First of all – just because someone is gay is not a reason for you to feel entitled to tell them to “help” the gay community. Secondly, Adam could hardly do MORE to support gay rights and has had ample recognition for it INCLUDING his recent award he was presented with by the EQCA. That’s right. THIS VERY PICTURE is from the event where Adam was honoured for all he does for the gay community. And yet this article chooses to ignore that, make fun of his hair and his boyfriend and disrespect his mother. I am amazed at how tolerant Adam is about the way he is treated by some sectors of his own community and that he continues to do as much as he does in the face of the prejudice he endures from all sides. Personally I am ashamed and disgusted by it.
tattoojo
You are supposed to be a gay magazine, supposedly supporting the gay community.
Instead of acknowledging the great work Adam has done to help the cause of the gay community and his award, you instead go on about his hair.
If you did you research on Adam Lambert and the work he has done you would know all about his help to fight the day to day problems that gay people face.
Oh and by the way THAT WOMAN in RED is his MOTHER if you had bothered again to do any research.
Certainly won’t be reading this pathetic excuse for a magazine again.
Joseph
@ Little Kiwi
I personally don’t have anything against Adam Lambert, but I don’t want his looks, life, career or his Mr Permatan boyfriend, for the record I’m quite happy with what I’ve got thanks. Your arrogance in claiming to know what we wish we had is insulting comming from somebody who sounds and writes like a person with very little intelligence.
Roro
They are all gorgeous!!! I could look at them all day! Adam is so sweet to his mom and she is so supportive. Glad Adam has met someone that he has so much in common with and can have fun with. Mr. Sauli is cute as a button! They make a fine couple. Why is anyone here to criticize? Have too much time on your hands? “I make ME better when I put YOU down”? Yeah, right!
Chris
@Jacki: Apparantly I know enough about Adam to know how his camp acted when he was gearing up for his first album release. Queerty even has articles about it. Now he is playing a different tune, and I really don’t care. I am not saying he has to be our representative, but as a media figure he will represent us to a number of people. That he chooses to ignore this to play the S&M sexual pop star says more about his character than anything else.
Beverly
Adam gets hated by the hetros & the very community he fights so hard to gain rights for in the best way he can! Yep it IS definitely a “Mad World” we live in people!! He has tried so hard to NOT be a role model for anyone, but just by being open, loving, & honest he has inspired and changed lives! Go ahead & hate on me all the hell you want! I won’t be back to read any of your remarks to my remark!! You all should be so ashamed hating on someone who has such a loving spirit! Who’s the bullies now? Bet all that said negative remarks about how Adam looks are just ABSOLUTELY P E R F E C T! The ones that judge will be judged!! Peace out!
Manhattan
Adam Lambert is stunningly beautiful. His guy Sauli is adorable. Love they are different and wear their hair fabulous! Adam’s Mom in the red dress is gorgeous.
Has this site ever said anything good about Adam? All that he does as a proud gay man.
his amazing Artistry and you continue to insult. You truthfully are a lousy representative of the gay media. Adam has more class in one eyelash than the whole lot of you at this
media site.
stinglikeabee
@Chris…you have your head up your ARSE…Adam has helped me this little Lesbian with life. YOu seriously need to move forward. living in the past is so ignorant. Adams “It gets better video, and all of his openess to the gay community, you should be ashamed of your comments, what have you done for our community lately…do tell. And to the idiot who decided to write this article, if you don’t support him, stop riding on his coattail for hits on your lousy site. Adam won an award that night, guess you forgot to mention that. done here..
Manhattan
Adam looks so beautiful! And his guy is adorable. Love that they wear their hair
fabulous and different. LOVE IT ! Adam’s Mom looked so gorgeous !! WTH!!! Do you guys ever say anything in praise of all that Adam does for your community. He has opened so many people’s
eyes to beauty and love. He has more class in one eyelash than this whole media site.
You should be proud of this man. He gets more respect from the straight community than he does from you. Adam is changing things for the better and you are lost to how amazing and sincere he really is. He’s right…you eat your own. You fall over Gaga and Kesha etc.
Take a good long look at Adam. He is the one who will be around ..he will be the one who will change things. He is so talented and his Artistry and ability to communicate will
help your community in ways you’ve never even dreamed of. Damn you..the next time
you say something…it had better be nothing but GOOD THINGS about Adam Lambert or
you will have a lot of Adam Fans coming to see you…
musicfan
Once again, I see comments from jealous, resentful bitter queens, it’s people like you that are part of the problem. When Adam was on the AMA’s, he did NOT receive support from the LGBT community. In fact, that asswipe OUT magazine editor was the main cause of the vibe of Adam’s performance (the FU at the end was surely directed at him & everyone else that claimed he was either ‘too gay’ or not gay enough). Adam only wanted to be a singer, a performer, an artist….he didn’t get why his sexuality was such a big deal to everyone. However, he has since embraced his position in the public eye and has donated proceeds from his song “Aftermath Remix” to the Trevor Project, he also made an “It Gets Better” video during his busy schedule & sold-out tour last year. He continues to support The Trevor Project with his new Pennyroyale Silver peace pendant. In addition, he also supports 1in10 … so, all you smartass bitter queens, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? It’s high time you stop criticizing this wonderful, sweet, generous talented man & DO SOMETHING YOURSELVES. Adam was being awarded for his contributions to the LGBT community…that’s why he was at this event, plus at the VH1 Do Something awards, where he has been recognized for also raising money for Charity: Water and Donors Choose.
You expect him to support you, yet you tear him down every chance you get. He gets more support from his straight fans than he does the gay community. He’s made changes just by being himself, with pride & no apologies, than he would if he stood on a platform talking about it.
Have a great day.
Manhattan
Well I didn’t mean to but I posted twice..so I’ll do one more.
You didn’t even mention the fact that Adam won an award for Equality.
I think you are all jealous of that beautiful intelligent Man. I really do.
You should have him on a pedestal. Showing him off to the World.
You make me so damn mad! O__O
Tom
Did I mention both Adam and his boyfriend are fugly? Birds of a feather…
Shana
What a pretty picture! Adam’s mom is beautiful. And Adam and his boyfriend are happy and that’s all that matters.
KatieJ
“Is Adam ready to help our community?”
@Chris, what rock have you been hiding under? Adam was there because he was the recipient of the California Equality Award. He is changing hearts and minds around the world. I know because he changed mine and the course of my children’s lives and their children as a result. Not to mention my extended family and friends. Change one heart, change the world. And I know many others out there like me who have changed and become enlightened because of him. He has a gift for it.
But he has done more than even that. He did an It Gets Better vid, and has been completely open and unapologetic about his orientation. More so than almost any other mainstream male singer out there. Right now there is a “PEACE” signature pendant being sold through Pennyroyal Studios, all the proceeds of which go to the Trevor Project. He could have made some nice bucks from that but chose to further the cause with it instead.
Ya know, it’s real easy to take swipes at people and demand from them what you yourself probably could never do – stand before an international audience of millions and declare “I’m gay. Ya got a problem with that?!” and do it with such panache and grace and patience and fearlessness in the face of the inevitable death threats, blacklisting and sermonizing that result. Think you could do it?
I ask you Chris and all here who are so quick to criticize him:
Exactly how many awards have you won for advancing the cause of gay rights? A show of hands please?
jacki
@Chris: Oh I see – all you know about Adam is that he can act a bit camp and incorporate S&M motifs into his performances where the lyrics call for it. That’s hardly worth mentioning since just about everyone knows that – it’s not a BIG SECRET LOL. But you think Adam was too camp and too S&M and now he’s not quite so camp or S&M so that’s even worse? First, there was nothing wrong with Adam’s fun excursion into glam and sexy performances for his first album and it’s not like I need to look at articles here to know he did that. LMAO But if you’d seen anything he did live you’d know he had a whole range of “roles” that he portrayed – he’s a theatrical person – that’s his background. Some were sexy and OTT, others were gentle and sweet, some were just playful and cheeky etc. He likes to play roles as part of his performances – so what? It might come as a shock to you but people are allowed to play and experiment with images and styles. But the fact that he’s moving forward, growing, changing as a person, becoming more comfortable with just being himself, believing in his ability as a singer more and relying less on being showy/theatrical – all this is – to you – some kind of BAD thing. Wow! How odd. And then on top of all that, all this somehow translates for you into “he’s not helping the gay community” despite all the work and effort he makes to do exactly that?? I’m really not sure what you want from Adam or from the world in general actually. 🙂
Tom
Wow, “musicfan”, Adam took time out of his “busy schedule” to make an it gets better video? That would perhaps be plausible if thousands of other people hadnt of made one. In fact, he was almost obligated to make one considering he would’ve been the ONLY person not to make one. For God sake…
Sophia
Bottom line, it doesn’t matter how beautiful you are on the outside or how you style yourself, if you are mean and nasty in your actions/comments, then you are not an attractive person in my book. Adam has a beyond beautiful and kind heart above all else. And he is proud to be weird and wild and express himself freely. That’s why so many people adore him. And THAT’S why he won the Equality Award. He is a role model because of that spirit and positive attitude and the way he inspires others to be themselves and not be afraid. Some people are obviously just too superficial and mean (and perhaps jealous?) to see it.
karen
@Little Kiwi:
I am an Adam Fan and that was totally uncalled for! There are going to be negative comments under every article on the internet, And just because a person is gay does not mean they have to like Adam or support him, or heaven forbid even find him attractive. My son is gay (28) and does not like Adam’s music and Adam is not his type – however his boyfriend of 3 years does like Adam and took me to his concert.;) The comments you made regarding being jealous of Adam really do not apply at all. Perhaps they would be more appropriate for articles on Yahoo where teens and 20’s hang out and love to post hateful comments – especially if they are homophobic….but then some people everywhere are simply not going to like Adam’s music – just like my son, who happens to have good taste in music. He admits Adam has an amazing voice, but he just doesn’t like the kind of pop he does.
You might consider what Mark Twain said: “It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.”
On the other hand there are comments here implying Adam does not support the gay community. You need to bring yourself current on what Adam did last year, what he is all about, and the reason why he was in this picture in the first place since he was there to receive an Equality California Award for his contributions to the gay community. As for those who would like to learn where he stands on this you can listen to Sam Sparro’s introduction and Adam’s acceptance (@6:10 if you want to skip Sparro and all the rest) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaMebrgnhjM
If you don’t know where Adam stands and what he has done to support the community then why comment on it?
sana
Where is the important information about the award Adam received from California Equality organization? Are you just another celeb site? If so I can find out about his hair on a myriad of web sites about pop culture. I thought you went deeper than that–like acknowledging the great work he has done toward gay rights and being a visible role model for gay teens. geez–#callmedisappointed
Teresa
@Tom: Adam was one of the first to make an It Gets Better Video – he was under no obligation to do so, he just wanted to. It’s an issue close to his heart and unfortunately knows only too well what it’s like to be bullied, attacked, insulted and even receive death threats – just for being gay. In addition he has done much more besides that, for the gay community and for many other causes. He doesn’t just do it when it suits him, he’s constantly involved in charity work – it’s a part of his life. Adam is not a bad person – I don’t really understand the hate you are throwing at him. What has he done to deserve that?
PS Those who are posting here to clarify what this photo is about – please don’t sink to the level of the haters. I don’t think Adam would be impressed. That’s not how he rolls. Just think about how he has responded to this kind of viciousness from many quarters in the past 2 years. He tries to stay cool and light-hearted in the face of it.
Tom
@Teresa And what do you think his REAL motive was for making one? Stop being a delusional fan, its all about PR and $$$
sizzling
I wish more people in the gay community had the guts that Adam Lambert has. He is out and proud and doing his thing unapologetically while wowing audiences worldwide. He has actually received the Equality Idol award this past weekend, but unfortunately reporting about his hairdo is more important. The woman in red is his mother. I am proud of Adam for including his loved ones on this special night.
karen
@KatieJ:
good comments…thank you. You forgot to mention that he released an acoustic recording of the song he wrote “Aftermath” the proceeds going to The Trevor Project.
Wanna scream out
No more hiding
Don’t be afraid of what’s inside
Gonna tell ya you’ll be alright
In the Aftermath
Anytime anybody pulls you down
Anytime anybody says you’re not allowed
Just remember you are not alone
In the Aftermath

Shame that such an intelligent, talented and gracious celebrity who is doing so much to promote equal rights is slammed by his own community. I guess jealousy and small-mindedness know no bounds!
Omaha
You’re kidding, right? This article is representative of what QUEERTY is all about? Seriously? Is it QUEERTY’s online viewership is dwindling and the only way to get any hits was to mention Adam, et.al. Or perhaps you’re just bored and you know that posting anything negative about Adam will get his fan base riled up, therefore, giving you something to do? Pathetic really.
Adam and Leila Lambert are two of THE classiest people EVER. Maybe if some of you had 1/100 of an ounce of class and graciousness they have, this article wouldn’t even be here.
Oh, btw, I think Westboro Baptist Church has an open membership policy, and those of you who have nothing to do but bash Adam, could probably join. (I’m pretty sure they give away free poster board and markers with each new membership).
Sebastian
Some gays from here are disgusting… Instead of being supportive you discriminate each other. You are such disgusting people.
I don’t like so many artist like Madonna which behaves/behaved like a wh*re her entire career or like Lady Gaga who is a freak of nature with no sense of talent, style and both of them doesn’t even look like good people to me but you know what? I’m not going to find one of her articles and say all of that because I respect them and people whoe likes them.
So if you don’t like it, why don’t you all go and suck someone’s d*ck instead of bitching about one stupid picture.
And QUEERTY you are the most disgusting site I’ve ever visited…
Jeff in NYC
@Thomas: You took the words outta my mouth!

@Tom: Tom – haha! That’s all you got out my whole comment? Figures. You’re definitely one bitter queen & nothing is going to make that change. Did Adam turn you down? Is that what your problem is? I bet it is. You’re jealous he has that hot little Finn, hahaha!
the1gypsyqueen
@Tom: Jealous??? How’s about all the HATERS doing something good for the gay community to stop the bullying and hate. Time to accept change.
Dawn L
@Tom: How can it just be about money to Adam when he donated the proceeds from the Aftermath remix to The Trevor Project? Adam doesn’t seem like the money is that big a deal to him.. He doesn’t drive a fancy car (which he could afford)He. He’s renting a home not buying and his wardrobe consists of items he’s had for years. The biggest thing he’s bought is a condo for his mom and he was so proud to do that… So NO! I don’t think it’s all about the money to Adam.
Tom
Again, I’m certainly not jealous of this hasbeen. The only reason he does any LGBT press now is to try and keep his falling star in the spotlight. Its all about PR.
Now as for what I do for the gay community, well I am involved in lots of charities but you dont see me doing it in front of cameras for publicity.
Dawn L

Fisrt of, who told you that’s the only thing he does? He does more stuff but only people that works for him knows about it, don’t talk if you don’t know. And second, I really doubt you can do 1/10 of what he does. He helped several people, even without knowing. You just promote hate… That’s not what people wants… Next —->

why respond to the jealous gays on this site or any site? Is it any news that the gay community eas their own? YALL JUST SUCK–THIS SITE AND SITES AND AUDIENCES OF JEALOUS GAYS- I bet if Adam was some so-called straight celeb or a female pop star, the article would be fawning all over him…the hate from this section of the gay community mirrors the hate Adam receives from the heteros…Lady in Red..WTF? oh and Tom, Adam’s star is not falling…he tied Daughtry as the 2nd most successful Idol alum this year..I would love to be a fly on your wall as you go crazy as Adam becomes an even bigger star…Adam has WAY BIGGER BALLS THAN YOU DO TOM…U GOT PENIS ENVY…
DespiseHate
Why does there seem to be so much hatred for this man? And I don’t mean the “article”, but some comments are just hurtful and sound like nothing more than child-ish bullying. If the headline is about the hair…well, some people like it and some people don’t. It really has little to do with anything else in this instance.
Cannibals
It makes me so sad that Adam does not receive support from his own gay community. Can you just imagine for a minute how much more powerful LGBT would be if united together instead of trying to tear down their fellow gays? Adam does what he can and chooses to do to bring the gay community into a positive light. On the front line taking hate from every corner. But its seems to be the saddest when it comes from his fellow gay people. Its really sad also that this article didnt even mention that he won the Equality California award along with Facebook where this picture was taken from. I think you all should take a long look in your mirrors and figure out where you want to go as a community and if you want to move ahead and make progress and start supporting ANY gay who is Out and Proud of it instead of picking on the color of their skin or their hair.
Jojo
Reading the comments, I’m just sick to my stomach. The reason for all the bullying & discrimination against the LGBt is you, cause you can’t stand together, you hate your own, you are bullies yourselves. Theminute a brave guy stands against all the hate, you give your backs & bring them down. Shame on you all! You just sit behind your computer & tear down your future, that’s what you bullies are best at. As to Mr Lambert, stand tall and be proud of what you have done cause I for sure know what you have done for my teenage son. God bless you!!!
agrimesy
Congratulations QUEERTY, you are definitely making gay equal rights a reality. Way to exercise your freedom to hate! Now you truly are equal in modern society . . . you loathe each other just as much as your oppressors do. What a nasty, negative website. Not one positive headline up top. This is definitely the place to be if you want to whine and get pissy. For that reason alone, Adam Lambert does NOT belong here.
teralex
@Chris: Adam wanted his album to be a variety. Why not? Pink’s ‘refuse’ earned Adam a Grammy nom and won him awards internationally.
Leila his mom, is 53. She usually dresses more subdued. It was a special night! Notice article doesn’t mention his award for leadership.
markit
I still can’t get over the DISRESPECT towards Adam’s Mom..she marched with PFLAG and Ellen’s Mom during LA Pride this year and is a great role model…I mean, come Queerty and fucked up jealous gays alike, have some decency…well..I guess we know that Adam’s will not be getting the support from some gay media for album 2…good thing Adam has a cross-over reach into the mainstream that these jealous self-hating gays could only dream of..HEY, ADAM IS THE FUCKING MOVEMENT….
Anita
@Tom: What is wrong with you people?? Adam fights for the gay cause every interview and concert. He makes me help fight for gay causes and fund campaigns, and then, I come here and read your vile, mean statements about a wonderful, compassionate person. Well you can all rot in hell as far as I care. I will continue to support this wonderful performer but will not read any articles on this site again. SORRY YOU ARE ALL SO MISERABLE, HATEFUL PEOPLE. You are not even asked to like his music but to hate him and tease him as a person is incomprehensible. I’m gone from this site.
Tom
@Cannibals
Bullshit. We’re not going to support someone who was too ashamed to reveal his sexuality throughout American Idol and then came bounding out of the closet when he landed a big Magazine cover. The guy is a total slimeball.
I’d rather support someone like Ellen who was honest at the PEAK of her career.
Marky Boy
So many delusional fans, so little time. Adam made it PERFECTLY CLEAR at the start of his so called “career” that he wanted nothing to do with the gay community. So we want nothing to do with him.
Tom
@Marky Boy spot on.
I’m sick of these Gaydy Kaka and Lamebert stans always trying to tell us that we *have* to support them just because they like to exploit us and tell us they love us (in front of the cameras no doubt) and behind the scenes they dont do shit.
Fuck their fans and fuck them.
KatieJ
“We’re not going to support someone who was too ashamed to reveal his sexuality throughout American Idol and then came bounding out of the closet when he landed a big Magazine cover.”
Oh. I forgot. It’s ALL about the gay.
“This week, for Country Week, I’m gonna sing Johnny Cash’s Ring of Fire. And BTW, I’m gay.”
Yeah, that makes sense. LOL.
I guess you missed the 5,000 times over the last 10 years when it has been made clear that Idol contestants cannnot EVER talk to the press.
Or maybe you think he should have had it emblazoned on the back of his sexy leather jackets? (this site needs an eyeroll emotie)
Chris
Ha ha, it is so funny to read the fans using tu quoque. It is called a logical fallacy for a reason. I’m sorry for being critical of this idol, but I don’t think being a pop star and winning awards is worthy of unconditional love. “It Gets Better” is a slacktivist campaign in the first place, but it is great that Adam will be giving money to the Trevor Project. Unfortunately, it will be under the guise of you buying his music. No, sorry that is not bold leadership.
It is funny how Adam being his magnificent self free from the constraints of supporting us seems to eerily match being a generic, sell-out, manufactured pop star.
Dawn
@Tom: Tom…YOU ARE WRONG ELLEN CAME OUT AFTER SHE WAS FAMOUS AND SHE LOST HER FIRST TALK SHOW AND WAS BLACKBALLED BECAUSE SHE CAME OUT .. SHE WENT TO LIVE IN THE HILLS OF OJAI CAUSE SHE WAS SO UPSET.. YOU KNOW NOTHING BUT YOUR HATE!! AND YES I AM SCREAMING… Some of you, not all, seem to be your own worst enemy! You breakdown what others work so hard to build up.. SHAME ON YOU!!!
Sebastian
What a bunch of fags. HE did say it at the peak of his career cause the best was after idol. And besides they cannot say absolutely anything to the press cause otherwise they get in troubles, and i mean legal ones.
It’s not about defending him or not, it’s about why being so hateful with someone?
You don’t have to worship him but also not to hate him and call him names…
Besides, the fact that you are gay doesn’t mean you have to do something for the gay community and he is doing it so why don’t u all shut your f*cking mouth..
If people does charity with their earning, that’s bad? That’s bullshit… And where do you think all the people that donates gets their money from????? God, people is so stupid and hateful.
If you don’t like him, don’t comment
MaryAnn
Reading coments here it’s clear, that all LGBT community will probably never get equality or their rights. Because you can’t support each other, can’t fight for each other, but you definitely can kissing asses of people who doesn’t even care about you. It makes me laugh.
Tom
@MaryAnn
Its clear you’re intellectually challenged if you think that we need to stuff money in Lamebert’s pockets and heap praise on him for being a sub-par lgbt activist in order for us to get our rights. You’re a delusional fangirl and it makes me fucking angry.
Sebastian
So true MaryAnn. If they never support each other they will keep being killed for being stupid and not respect themselves.
It’s not about saying “OH Adam Lambert is gay so I should support everything he does just because he is gay”. You can definitely not like him but to say, fag and call him names and treat him like shit, then you are the bunch of stupid fags that should actually dissapear from this world.
Jade
You know what Adam has changed my life .. I never gave one thought about Gays and their rights till Adam.. Here I thought all gays were kind and loving and had hearts full of love for others. But I can see that you are not all like Adam.. I support Adam cause I believe in him but now I’m not so sure if I want to support a community with so much hate for one of their own.. This is a very sad day for me to see how you all really feel about Adam. I’ve never been as appalled as I am right at this minute. I will still support Adam and all that he does but you guys are on your own…Let’s see how far you get with all this hate
MaryAnn
@Tom
Not even a fan tbh. Just told you the truth. How can you want equality or rights if you can only hate each other? And I mean not only in show biz. Look at policy. Some idiotic woman call you “Satan” in front of the whole country, and nobody even sue her. All you can is sit in front of your monitor and write hateful jelous comment’s on somebody who realy makes something for LGBT people.
Once again, I don’t care about musical likes/dislikes. But Ms Lambert made for LGBT way more than much people you like kissing ass off.

So many lame haters so little time. Adam has never said he wanted nothing to do with the ‘gay community’ which – by the way – is not just you and your mates. I AM PART OF THE WORLD’S GAY COMMUNITY and I’m not part of your narrow-minded, hate-filled little gang. It’s also not gay media outlets like Out Magazine and whoever else likes to “MAKE MONEY” off gay people and proclaim themselves arbiters of what is the right way to be gay. It’s all of us, people from all walks of life all over the world – many of whom are fans of Adam Lambert (amongst other artists) and ONE of whom IS ADAM LAMBERT. He IS part of the gay community because – HE IS GAY! There isn’t some closed “gay” society – is there? Adam HAS said he will be who he is on HIS OWN TERMS and will not conform to some outdated idea/stereotype of what a “gay man” should be like, whether that comes from straight or gay people. Is that what upsets you? That you can’t control him and make him into a nice ‘straight-friendly’ gay celeb that wont upset the MOR world you’ve so comfortably slotted “gays” into. LMAO Well tough! That ain’t who Adam is. Adam has been ‘OUT’ since he was a teenager. Just because he didn’t bang on about it when he was on Idol doesn’t mean he was closeted. It just means he never saw it as an issue because he was already so comfortable with his sexuality. Everyone else made a big deal of it and acted like it was some kind of mystery or that he SHOULD have made an issue of it and been a champion for gay rights. Well guess what. That’s NOT what he went on the show for. He is gay and it was as clear as daylight that he was gay – he just wasn’t allowed to give an interview about it (or anything else) during Idol. Once Idol was over he was free to CONFIRM what was obvious to anyone with even half a brain. I’m not sure why you people think everyone has to go around declaring their sexuality whenever they are in the public eye – or rather anyone who isn’t straight has to do that. Would you like us to get it tattooed on our faces just in case any of us happen to get in front of a camera? I’ve never heard such a bunch of whiney, bitter and twisted nonsense in my life.
Do you realise YOU are the ones being discriminatory (ie anti-gay) here? Grow up for goodness sake or you’ll always be the ones pulling the “gay community” backwards instead of helping us all achieve equality. Anyway – I’m done. I can’t see the sense in continuing to try and reason with people who can’t see past their obsessive prejudices and hate. I’ll leave you to your waa waaa waambulance rants and self-congratulatory pats on the back while you fawn over Britney and others who do nothing to “help” equal rights but happily take your money.
Ellen

@Jacki That girl deserves a Standing “O” Nicely said and every word True! Thank You for expressing the truth so eloquently 🙂

Thank you jackie for your words. I am really trying to understand what “the community” has against Adam Lambert. If you don’t find him attractive or hate his music, ok i get that. I am not gay, but i birthed a son who happens to be gay so i think i can throw my two cents in this conversation. I saw Adam from the beginning, as a beacon of hope for the society my son was growing up in. Adam never denied who he was even when obvious photos appeared online while he was on idol, he dressed and acted and interpreted lyrics during the show that made me think he was gay. And the first thing he did when he got off the show was confirm what we all knew. And his attitude all along….”Why is this such a big deal?!” That is the way my kid approaches his life. Adam’s honest approach is more than i can say for any other gay performer /entertainer. Its seems like more respect and admiration is given to those that have lived a lie or still remain closeted than a guy who never denied or disguised himself. And in only two short years Adam has gone from reality show contestant who from day one appeared in queer media when asked, to an outspoken advocate, becoming more comfortable expressing his views to an ever increasing fan base. and all that while attempting to build a career in a difficult industry.
Sonja
I never really thought much about the gay community until Adam came along. When I started becoming fascinated by him as an entertainer I wanted to know more. I wanted to understand who he was and where he came from. I can’t explain why really, he just moved me deeply with the way he expressed himself. He really got me thinking about the gay community and their struggle for equality. I’ve met lots of fans at his concerts with similar stories. One woman I met was from a small town and she told me she made a choice to leave her conservative church after she said Adam “woke her up”. She flew halfway across the country from Alabama with her husband and son (they all liked Adam on Idol) and said they had to see his first concert (this was the one at Fantasy Springs). She wrote a poem about him that moved me to tears. I can tell you other stories about fans I’ve met who have really been changed by Adam. Who now see things differently and are inspired by Adam’s bravery to be himself. I went to my first gay pride parade this summer and have started making donations to gay causes like The Gay and Lesbian Leadership Institute and The Trevor Project. I want to do more. But my point is there are many of us. Adam is not only a great singer and entertainer he is a great catalyst for change. I know some of you don’t like him, maybe don’t see him as a good representative for your community. That’s okay. I just want you to know, he really IS making a difference for the LGBT community, just by being himself. I’m living proof.
CHEEKIEY
who r these people?

Beatrice : I wish all the absolute best to you and your son. But one has to remember that, firstly, a lot of people who spend too much time on blogs get very nasty, and also : gays are very varied. The only thing in common is an attraction to the same sex (rather than, more commonly, the opposite sex) and otherwise it’s hard for them to form a “community” because they range from hippie peaceniks to total Nazis and everything in between. (Otherwise, I’m not a fan, nor follow, Adam Lambert but I certainly don’t feel any hostility towards him. I kinda don’t get that either).
Straight Acting
Cant stand this Queen. He sets gay rights back 20 years with all the stereotypes he reinforces.
Sammy
I think it’s so funny that there are so many gay guys on here hating on Adam Lambert. What’s up with that. You all act like someone else has to do all your work for you. Get off your lazy ass and start doing something for our community. And as an out and proud gay man myself, I love Adam’s music and his look and style. Sounds like you all are jealous of him. Pitiful, you guys need to get a life. Before I go, when are you guys coming out of the closet, huh?
Bella
@KatieJ:
@KatieJ – I agree with you regards Adam Lambert, Personally, I like him, and I respect him as a person, although his music is not my cup of tea. But are you serious? – you come on here and ask members of the gay community – “what have you done?” = you think it takes any less courage to walk in our shoes on a daily basis, just because we might not be famous. I’m sorry, but how dare you – You have no idea. Adam might have changed your thinking, your heart and whatever else as far as your feelings about HIM are concerned, but it would seem that is as far as it goes.
nineinchnail
I have to say that whenever I see Adam Lambert that under all that makeup I see a man who is probably a total power top. His Mum is pretty too. The bf? Cute and is probably on the receiving end of something quite ‘interesting’. 🙂
Marielle
@Bryan:
Adam is 29, so I hope she is a bit older than that.
Marielle
@Tom:
So he was at the peak of his career during American Idol? And why do gays always have to talk about their sexuality when straight people don’t. How discriminating is that? Did any of the straight contestants talk about their sexual preference?
The Anti Sparkle Cow
So I see the Sparkle Cow herd has landed to hector the gay masses about why Madam is the Gay Messiah. These are the same women that were against repeal of ‘DADT’, gay marriage rights and any knowledge of the gay community BEFORE they became fixated on Adam Lambert via that crappy tv show. Now they ‘pretend’ to support gay issues only because they secretly believe they are the one that could turn Adam straight with a little loving.
It’s all about Adam, not about anything to do to help the LGBT community. Stupid cows and their stupid Idol. Good luck getting them to mooo-ve along. You might need a cattle prod. However you could make glittery burgers out of them.
Little Kiwi
Dear Straight Acting, actually Adam isn’t setting us back at all. The “stereotypes” you feel he’s “reinforcing” are in no way negatives, at all.
To prove it, I bet you can’t intelligently articulate how or WHY they’d be considered negative.
But hey, wanna try?
We get it – your father hates having you for a son, and you’ve only been able to tolerate being a homosexual by distancing yourself from the rest of the gay community.
“i’m into guys, but i’m like THOSE gays, i’m STRAIGHT ACTING, i’m not like a stereotypical gay dude”
this is why your father is ashamed of you. not because you’re a homosexual, but because you’re such a pathetic little wimp about it.
so grow a pair of balls and give up this “straight acting” cowardice, or give your father the gift he always wanted from you and O.D. already.

actually, i’ve never heard Gaga, nor Lambert, nor any fans on here say that folks “have” to support them or “have” to like them.
at all. none. what’s amazing is that you butthurt little wimps (we get it, daddy is ashamed you suck cock. grow a pair and deal with it) is that you come on, scream about how much you dislike something that your piece-of-shit father would deem “a stereotype” and then run around playing faux-victim.
*yawn*
nobody says you have to like lambert. i don’t have his album. but what good do you think you’re doing by coming on to bitch about him? what did YOU do today that could help open the doors for other LGBT people?
some of you gay dudes are going to waste your entire lives looking over your shoulder worrying about what The Straights are saying about you. stop being such cowards. it’s pathetic.

Little Kiwi, you need to rethink, you were over on another post and when somebody disagreed with you you also accused them of having a Daddy that was upset they sucked cock. So basically, you think anybody who disagrees with you must have major family issues.
Additionally, go back and read some previous posts. When Lambert was first on AI, and then doing the dance about is he or isn’t he, his fans came in here and were laying scorched earth attacking the gay community for not throwing rose petals at his feet. They were ordering us to love him and calling people all sorts of names if they hadn’t bought his CD.
So before you start foaming at the mouth, you may want to find out a bit more.
Cannibals
@Tom: Tom, Adam was living out and proud since the age of 18. He didnt come “bounding out of the closet” after AI. Adam choose to let music be the focus of his being on AI not being gay. It is HIS choice anyway how and when and where he speaks about his sexuality. Not when others think he should. So, you are not going to ever support Adam Lambert because of those reasons? I dont believe that. Its your choice but if gays want to make progress in this country then its time to be united and stop tearing down just because someone didnt do something exactly like you think they should.
Little Kiwi
not at all, Cam. i’ve just been around long-enough to know Daddy Issues when they rear their miserable heads.
it’s not what you say, it’s why you say it and how you are about it.
like i said before, coming on here to shriek about how much you can’t stand Adam Lambert won’t make your dad respect you more. suck on that, little boy. 🙂

Maybe Kiwi has some kind of Father-Figure hangup and ….projects that on others? I noticed that too, it’s always the same story from him….. As if gay men haven’t had a zillion different backgrounds. Some of us never had fathers. Some of us couldn’t care less what our fathers thought or said. Some of us kicked our father’s asses. Etc.
Frannie
I have to wonder, seriously, how many of these comments are legitimate. Obviously, we can see who the Glamberts are, including myself. But the hateful comments? How many are Clay Aiken Fans parading as regular readers of Queerty? Cause this sounds like an all-too-familiar fan war to me. I’m laughing my ass off at the Dragonball Z headline. I love the hair, but lord, it DOES look like Dragonball Z. And for the record, everyone should be so lucky to have a mom like Leila.
Netmeg99
@The Anti Sparkle Cow: Awwww Yes the ever so enchanting VFTW … We don’t want to turn Adam straight…We like him just the way he is. I am kinda growing fond of the Sparkle Cow term though. And you are right before Adam I didn’t give one moment of thought about gays and their plight. But now I do and it’s because of Adam but that doesn’t in any way diminish the fact that I do care now.. So much hate spewing from your lips.. Don’t you ever get tired of hating?
KatieJ
@Bella:
My comment was in answer to another’s accusation that Adam has done “nothing”. I didn’t ask “what have you done?” I asked “how many awards have you received for what you’ve done?” simply to highlight that what Adam has done has been in front of the entire world making him a huge target for the entire world. Those of you not in the public eye don’t have to contend with that widespread level of danger. And it takes HUGE courage to do what Adam is doing. By saying that, I in no way am diminishing what you DO have to contend with in your private lives.
Stell
It’s amazing how intolerant the people on this site are towards one of their own. If Adam were a straight girl ally, like, oh, say… I don’t know, Gaga, he’d get only love, love, love here. How ironic.
KatieJ
Oh, just wanted to add one more thing. It seems Queerty is overtly courting the so-called “Sparkle Cow’s” presence here. Another article just popped up today about Adam, that one correcting the glaring omissions from this one.
Could it be Queerty just happened to omit that info in this article to attract those “Sparkle Cows” to their site for desperately needed hits? LOL.
How transparent of Queerty.
meego
@Tom: I think you’re the only one here who sees Glambert for what he really is. A phony PR whore.

@Nutmeg and @KatieJ,
So refreshing to have logical and sound insights.
I,like you @Nutmeg99,really didn’t think/know much about the plight of gays……and then along came Adam Lambert! He opened my eyes as to how true tolerance and love of humankind works. His positive outlook is inspiring despite the negative that comes his way. Unfortunately,as with any community, there are some who like to attack Adam because he poses a threat. Why? Perhaps certain people see in Adam what they themselves fail to be. Adam is everything the weak and mediocre of minds are not. Add incredible talent, humility, wisdom, humor, success, and gorgeous good looks, and those who violently oppose him can’t help but feel inadequate. Their rantings are proof…….they have to say something even though they have nothing to say!!!
Right (you know who you are)??

Look: I’m gay, have nothing personally against Adam Lambert or any pop icon for that matter, but his music SUCKS. That isn’t hate, that isn’t discriminatory, that isn’t the gay community not supporting its own, it’s an opinion held by a lot of people. People (obviously fans on here) are crazy and histrionic, and very few valid points have been made. What I’m most concerned about is the level of taste in our pop culture in general, straight or gay. Talent is more than an okay voice, cultivating a look/persona, and having a record company polish up mediocrity because it’ll pay off in niche marketing. There’s real music and real art out there, and it makes me sad that so many young people are so fervently (zealously) defending someone that is just another conveyor belt pop musician.
And the herd mentality on here is crazy. If any of would care to notice, hateful and shallow comments are not exclusively against Adam Lambert, gay people against gay people, or even Querty. It’s called the INTERNET. Time to start thinking.
Sebastián
Cannibal, why u have to twist people’s words? They never said that.
They said u have to be united, not to like him. You can totally say I really don’t like his music at all but it’s good that he’s doing something and some people can feel better being gay because of him. That’s what they meant.
Besides if you dilike someone because of their fans it’s you the one who is stupid. I don’t hate Madonna, I hate their fans that most of them are hateful but that’s not her fault. And besides, Adam’s fans didn’t start anything, people started calling him fag, queer and horrible stuff so it’s obvious they will come in his defense. You should be objective cause you’re not.
Sebastián
derp, that’s great u don’t like him, it’s really great. The thing is that here we are not talking about that, we are talking about people calling someone fag, queer, queen and stupid names. That IS discrimination so don’t try to change that.
I’m not Adam’s fan but I hate when even another gay talks that way knowing he did stuff for those gays to have rights. I don’t know if you knew but I’m from Argentina and he helped us having Gay marriage now, so yes, like it or not his music he did stuff so at least you can all show respect.
And one other thing is that of course you can not like his style, music or whtever but to say he doesn’t have a voice to sing means you know nothing about music. 🙂
derp
I dunno Sebastian. No offense but for someone who’s ‘not Adam’s fan’ sound like you’re a little defensive about his talent. I didn’t say he didn’t have a voice, I said his voice was mediocre. And I study and compose music, believe me, there are a GREAT many voices, even in pop music that are more nimble, more controlled, and more in key. I’ve seen a few live performance clips of Lambert’s on blogs and he doesn’t really have that.
And it is by FAR a silly and naive thing to state Adam Lambert had central influence on gay marriage laws in Argentina. No activist groups at all that haven’t been working for this for years? Nope, just magical Adam Lambert. But hey, you’re not a fan, are you?
And because you sound like you’re about 14-16 years old, I understand your still forming ideas about discrimination. People write mean stuff on the internet, even queer people about other queer people. We need solidarity around what matters: politics and social movements, not B-list pop stars. He may work towards some causes but that does not mean people will not stop liking his music, his look, etc. So instead of crying about it on a queer blog, get some perspective and realize that a great many of us on hear do our part for our queer community in many different ways, and just because someone’s been given (with questionable legitamacy)an int’l platform to speak out doesn’t take away anyone else’s right to their opinion. I’m sure he’s done some good things, but the fervency on here is creepy and cult-like, and not so much into critical thinking.
slanty
@Sebastián: I agree. Fag is a hard word, there’s no excuse for that.
Sebastián
As I said before, I don’t like Madonna or Lady Gaga either but I will hate to see if someone treats them like that so I would totally go and defend it. I’m sorry but I hate discrimination towards everyone, celebrity or not celebrity, fan or not fan.
I also study music and my mom was a the conservatory in France and it’s not mediocre. Mediocre is Rihanna, Madonna or some other “pop stars” who can sing but nothing too impressive. He has the same voice (of course the male version) of Kylie Minogue, they both have opera voice, the thing is that they don’t do that kind of music and that’s why you cannot appreciate it.
Do you live in Argentina? hmmm NO, so you don’t know how influential was on this decision here. No, unfortunately here we don’t have really great activists groups that’s why they took him and other artists to give an example of healthy gay lives. That’s how I first knew about him and they were true.
I’m not 14-16, I’m 23 and I lived a lot already, you don’t know me (luckily). Actually you sound like a teen that says whatever about anyone without caring the consecuences or even get information about it before speaking.
That means that you can not discriminate normal people but you can with celebrities? Haha, your statement is just ridiculous. As I said you don’t have to like him or anything he does (I repeat it cause obviously you don’t know how to read) I just said you don’t have to call him names like they do before, that IS discrimination.
I think the discrimination here is creepy, and even more the people who thinks saying someone is a fag is being “objective and fair”.
Sebastián
Thx Slanty, as I said before you can not like his music, style, everything he does, I don’t care but a different thing is to say he is a fag and other several comments you can totally check above and in other articles from him on thise site.
I’ve never commented on those but I really got tired of watching how much they can hate someone that did nothing wrong to them.
I wonder if all of this “people” are actually bitching and calling names to Bachman. She actually is doing something against gays.
Tom
@Cam @Derp dont worry, CrApDAM is already a hasbeen and was barely a one album wonder lol. We won’t be hearing much more from him.
And lmao @ the comment accusing us of being Clay Aiken fans. Not in a million fucking years. Just…lol
Sebastián
See? This is silly, not they are not even talking about what this whole thread was about, lol. Now it’s just about not hearing about him anymore. You know what? If you don’t like him why did u ever entered here in the first place? Just to spread hate?
If I don’t like someone I don’t even bother on checking what they do or don’t do but I won’t say crappy things cause I respect everyone.
Don’t worry we won’t hear from you either cause luckily you’re no-one 🙂
derp
Sebastian. Please list the discriminatory statements people have uttered against Adam Lambert on this comment thread. I see people hating on his tan, his hair, his music, his man, and even his mom. What are you seeing that I’m not? I read one Lambert defender that called the haters ‘jealous queens,’ but that’s it.
I like a lot of pop star’s voices and some pop music. Composition isn’t about opera, but again, you seem to be really good at making simplistic statements. And I’m sorry, normally I defer to someone from a local country, but you’re not going to convince of Lambert’s integral role in gay marriage for Argentina. That’s insulting to the people who really fought for it, filed the court cases, faced discrimination by work and govt., etc. You’re of an age group that had a cultural rallying point- maybe that’s Adam Lambert, but you’re perspective is obviously skewed. I don’t disagree that pop culture can change minds, but it’s the singleminded statements about it being SOLELY Adam Lambert that make you look ridiculous. Sorry. People in Argentina can be as ridiculous in their assertions just like the rest of us.
And ps– I ask again because I keep reading the comments. Who on this comment thread is inflicting this terrible discrimination that you speak of?
Ganondorf
There’s a whole lot to not give a flying fuck about here. The battle over which paragraph in the post or comment to not give a fuck about more will be legend. I must fight the Majin Apathy. Kamay-ha-may-ha!!!!!!!!!!!
2Pugs
I am Adam’s faithful canine pug companion. My master is the most beautiful, kind and loving master a dog could have. He scratches my belly and kisses my ears and throws the ball for me whenever I want to play. I love to snuggle under his sheets and smell where he has just been. Sure, I chew up his leather and lace, but he loves me just the same. He is the type of man any gay man should strive to be like. I’m just a dog, but I think you men are terribly jealous of what a bright, shining star my master is. I am so lucky to be his dog and I AM PROUD TO BE A GLAMBERT. **runs up and bites the mean, jealous men on QUEERTY in the ankles**
slanty
@Tom: Adam is a superstar! You’ll be hearing from him whether you want to or not.
Sebastián
It’s fine, you can think whatever you want about my country, I live on it, not you. And thank god cause here we are way more free. I never said that it was only because of him, that’s your tiny-minded way of thinking. I said he helped doing it. And no, there is no big “organization” here. You know why? Because of this same thing, gays hating gays.
I’m not going to lose time reading every single hateful comment on here and other posts of him, I did that yesterday, you do it if you want. And then you even admit they were hating their mom, that’s even more stupid, someone they don’t even know, haha. So tiny-minded.
Tom
@slanty I doubt that. He only had one top 10 hit from his ill fated debut album which wasn’t even afforded a Platinum certification. Po’ thang.
slanty
@Tom: Stardom isn’t measured just in hit songs, brother!
Sebastián
True Tom, but maybe in the USA. You can check how in several different countries got PLatinum and even Diamond on one. I started checking at all those stuff a lil bit ago and got very surprised such a “new” singer could have such success. And even if he didnt’ get Platinum, what’s the problem?
So manye artists never got one and still are in the business. USA is not the only country in the world nor the most important one.
derp
Sebastian, it’s fine to think people are tiny-minded. I do it all the time. My point has been two things: 1)I don’t think his music is good and 2) It’s foolish and juvenile to interpret criticism of Adam Lambert (including criticism of his mom, however shallow that is) as some grand self-hating discrimination that’s going on here. I’m glad you’re thinking about inequality, oppression, and fighting the good fight. The mistake I’m seeing by Lambert fans on this page is to equate basic internet shit talking as some tragic example of ‘gays hating gays.’ As I stated before, criticism- founded, unfounded, disputed, WHATEVER is found in every group in every part of the world on the internet. The world isn’t black and white, and even if you idolize someone a great deal, you can try to dramatize it in whatever grand tragedgy you like, but it doesn’t change the truth that you’re just crying about someone not liking the same things you like.
WindyJocelyne
First Adam are a singer not a guy who are in the industries for help the gay right, but he makes many great thinks and he help the young teems gay to make there coming out. The guy’s gay who are not satisfaction about what Adam make or not are just the jealous guy’s who think that Adam will be make many miracles about gay life and gay right. Jeez open your eyes and your ears Adam already live his life openly gay and he his confortable in his own skin and not apology’s because he is gay for the AMA’s, do you think he need to make more than that? He’s not God and help him and dont bring your instastisfaction just on him…it is not is fault if we have many peoples in this life to dont learn about gay and are just ignorants peoples.
Stop to always hate and probably you gay are we will make a good run if you always cried about anything and yell about anyone you are not better than the stupid heteros who dont like you ..thats it.
Sebastián
It’s not criticism, that’s the problem, you keep minimizing it. Calling someone fag is not critizising, it’s discriminating. If you don’t know the difference it’s not my issue.
And yes, its true, not only with Lambert but with several people: some gays hates other gays as some straight hate other straight. The difference is that gays should be a bit better with themselves since they are always being discriminated.
I have other more important thing to cry about in my life unofrtunately, but this is not just not liking, this is hating and disciminating.
you keep minimizing so sorry but not interested in debating with people who doesn’t have arguments to defend their ideas. Good luck! 🙂
derp
Sebastian. I just did a word search on this page. No one called Adam Lambert fag. The first usage of the word ‘fag’ is a Lambert defender. This is basic fact. You have no argument, because you’re in some sort of fantasy land defending Lambert from someone who doesn’t exist on this comment thread, and you just want to have this great point about gay people being better to each other FOR NO APPARENTLY RELATED reason to the article. You are now officially a waste of time and it’s my fault for not realizing it sooner.
Sebastián
Ok derp, you just made my point, You don’t know how to read and keep minimizing stuff. Keep searching here and in other posts. You have all the time in the world 😉
Hope you are not a boss or something cause otherwise I feel sorry for the people who works for you, they work for some who is ignorant and doesn’t know to read correctly. :S

As far as I know they are 2 different people so I see no relation between them, well the only one is that you keep trying to compare them to produce more hate.
ally
@tom when was the last time an openly gay male DID go platinum in the US? Elton John’s Diana tribute single? It’s not that easy, there is a battle to get music played on “conservative” radio stations. Even the Scissor Sisters couldn’t do it. Adam did go platinum with the album and multiple singles in less conservative countries like Canada and Australia and at 825k in the US, he got pretty close here, even with the limited support from radio.
Perhaps if you did spent a little time thinking about the bigger picture maybe one day an openly gay male WILL reach platinum in the US.
Also don’t know why glamberts are raging at the dragonball z comment – I thought it was perfect. Sauli is like a stage 2 Super Saiyan and Adam is clearly stage 4 Goku!
The Anti Sparkle Cow
Pray tell exactly what does “confortable” and “instastisfaction” mean @WindyJocelyne. Are you so worked up in a mad Sparkle Cow rage that you’re ready to stampede and therefore devoid of spelling or punctuation skills?
This —> “it is not is fault if we have many peoples in this life to dont learn about gay and are just ignorants peoples.” doesn’t even make any logical sense.
Bottom line, you cannot force others to like what you like so it makes you angry. Get over it. No one here is attempting to make you dislike Adam, yet you and your ilk keep trying to force others to see it your way instead of respecting the freedom of everyone to form their own opinions.
Oh, and KatieJ, I love how you always try to pretend you are the Lead Sparkle Cow. Epic fail.
Sebastián
That’s not an opinion darling, it’s abuse and discrimination. I don’t care if you like him or not, the only thing I ask is respect for every human.
Oh, and about the “not logical sentence”, you can totally understand what they mean, no need to be bitchy cause you also have some mistakes and don’t write completely perfect as you should. And look who is correcting you, someone whose native language isn’t english, haha.
Oh, btw, you ask for repect but you use that nick so how can you ask for it when you don’t do it either? Start acting like a normal human and then they’ll respect you 😉
Go and live your life, if u have any 😉

@Sebastián: Anybody who thinks that Kylie Mignoe has an “opera” voice is deluding themselves exponentially!!!! I can’t stand Adam or his music but I understand how hard it is for a gay man to make it in the music industry so good for him, but his fans need to take a chill pill. No one should feel pressured to be a fan of him because he’s gay, that how group think is started.
Marielle
@derp:
derp said: I didn’t say he didn’t have a voice, I said his voice was mediocre. And I study and compose music, believe me, there are a GREAT many voices, even in pop music that are more nimble, more controlled, and more in key.
Could you name pop singers who can sing better than him? That is a serious question by the way, it is not meant as criticism. I know even opera singers are very positive about his voice and I have been searching high and low to find a singer as good as him and have not succeeded. I really love good voices, so I would really like to know.

**runs in and barks at all the bad gay men** My master Adam would HATE to see how you all fight with each other. Please, try and show love and respect to my master like the Glamberts do. They are THE BEST GROUP OF FANS out there, and He’s the greatest master in the world. **slinks back and continues to chew on Master’s leather glove**
Sebastián
Xtinca, I had the pleasure to work for Kylie, that’s why I can say something like that. She has an opera voice and she can sing somethign like D4 to C5 and F#3 to E5. She is a soprano, the difference is that soprano has many different classifications and she has the lowest but it’s still soprano. She even jokes about it on her shows, you should check it.
Sorry but if you don’t know you should check about it.
Besides, we never said you have to be his fan just because he’s gay, another silly one that wants to twist everything in thier convenience, we said you should not criticise so hatefuly calling someone names and stuff like that. And you should appreciatte what he did for them. That’s totally different and hope you can understand the difference.
That’s why I can tell you that this guy also has a very powerful voice and could sing like that if he wanted to.
meow
It’s Ok @Sebatian,
We know that Adam Lambert can sing ANYTHING!! Your attempt to educate the mediocre mind is futile. There are certain people on this site who get easily agitated with the truth or the mere fact that Adam Lambert has a dedicated fan base. Their M.O. is always to defend their position with untruths and pointless arguments.
Don’t bother. We know that Adam Lambert has a truly remarkable voice. Them? Well if they don’t like him, that’s their business. They are somewhat delusional in their rants, however. Even some of Adam’s detractors have attested to Adam’s skilled and powerful voice. And if the weak minded for one minute think that his fan base was created based on the fact that he’s gay…..well they don’t know his fan base. It’s Adam THE PERSON,THE SINGER,THE ENTERTAINER that is the reason his faithful fans have followed him. The fact that he is gay is just a part of who he is.
Oh well……someday…….
Jeff
@Chris: Only 3 of the songs came from other pop/rock stars (1 each from Lady Gaga, Pink, Matt Bellamy). Including bonus tracks, Adam wrote or co-wrote 6 tracks. The others were songs written FOR him specifically.
Jeff
@Tom: Yes, time out from his busy schedule. He was on a 116-venue international tour with a performance in a different locale almost every night – US, Canada, Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Phillipines, and Japan. All sold out or nearly sold out, some as large as 50,000 and 70,000. But he took time out to make an It Gets Better video during his tour. That’s nothing to sneer at.
meow
Gee @Jeff,
The problem with your last two posts: polite; to-the-point; sensible; fact-based; and THE TRUTH.
These are fighting points for the Adam bashers on this site. After all, when you engage in rants based on unfounded information and untruths,it must be somewhat embarrassing for the ‘ranters’ to have someone armed with FACTS so indisputable,it makes THEIR information appear….well….WRONG!! I’m sure the non-believers will try to sneer back with some sort of pissed-off rhetoric,…”Well…50,000 people…that’s not such a big crowd”. As long as the NBs keep drinking their own potion made from lies, spew and sputter, these type of responses are completely possible.
Albert Einstein quoted:
“Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.”

such a great lookin’ couple!!!

I deliberately stayed out of this thread while it was hot because I am both a Glambert(though I have abandoned the fanbase in disgust) and a member of the gay community.
I only have this to say: Glamberts, a bunch of straight women coming onto a gay blog, where you obviously do not realize what the atomosphere/house “tone” is(its a snark blog,so the tone is deliberately abrasive)… is simply offensive. You have AO and ALFC to do your thing on. Leave this site be. You are simply breeding more animosity against yourselves and Adam. I recognize names of folks I love and miss, but here I must disagree with your comments. That is all.
Marielle
@Marielle:
And again no answer. Whenever I ask to name someone who can sing better than Adam Lambert, I never get an answer :>). And I would really like to know.
Shannon1981
@Marielle: I am a die hard Adam fan, but honestly, there are plenty of great singers. Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson(may he RIP), Steven Tyler, Stevie Nicks, so on and so forth. You guys really don’t help anything when you act like Adam is some kind of legend. He isn’t there yet. Hopefully he gets there.
Besides, musical taste is subjective. Asking who is better is silly, because everyone will have different opinions. Still wondering why all you straight women are on a gay blog wreaking havoc anyway. Go back to AO where you belong.
Marielle
@Shannon1981: Who says I’m straight and what has that got to do with my question? And asking this is “wreaking havoc” and saying AL is a legend?
I love good singers, usually classical singers, and I mean good in the sense of technical ability, not personal opinion. AL is truly the only rock singer I know who has the technique of a classical singer with the freedom of expression of a rock singer. That is something I have missed all my life. And because it is NOT my habit to idolize anyone I really would like to know if there are any other singers like him.
Shannon1981
@Marielle: yes, wreaking havoc. You and the others are here chastising the regulars in an attempt to make them think of Adam the way you do.This is a snark blog, not a fan site. All this idolizing is nauseating. No matter what you say, yes, that is what it comes off as.
Sorry for assuming you are straight, but, either way, you aren’t a regular here, which makes you a one issue (Adam Lambert) poster. This happens every time there is an Adam article. The site becomes overrun with Glamberts who derail the conversation and tells us what we should and should not think and say about Adam, derailing the conversation and acting like they own the place. Classless, tacky, and offensive behavior to do that in someone else’s house.
Michael
@Shannon1981:
What the hell is your problem? What do you think because you are a regular here that somehow makes you and your opinion more important then others here? Get real lady.
Ive been on this site for YEARS including under another name this isnt my original name but I still dont think I have the right to treat people as less then I am just because I am ALSO a regular on this site. Get rid of your ego its disgusting people like you really need to look in a mirror and learn how to treat people with respect.Appalling attitudes and behavior disgraceful.
MikeE
@Marielle: mmmm, I’d offer: any of the countless hundreds of singers on Broadway?
how about any of the countless hundreds of opera singers out there?
well, you DID ask “who can sing better”.
Adam Lambert is a pop/rock singer, it’s not exactly the be all and end all of vocal technique.
Shannon1981
@Michael: My problem is the disturbance these women cause all over the internet any time anyone says anything they don’t like about Adam Lambert. They swarm like mother hens. Its distasteful, disrespectful, and disruptive.
Michael
@Shannon1981:
Well I can understand why that could be annoying.I am not one of those out there fans that try to go for someones jugular if they say something negative about their crushes or favorite singers or celebs or whatever.
Shannon1981
@Michael: I wouldn’t have my boxer briefs in a twist if it was even just that. I understand protectiveness of Adam- I’ve done it myself in the past. However, when it spills into websites they hardly belong on, when they spew ignorance about what GAY PEOPLE should and should not say on GAY websites about GAY artists, its over the line. I’ll call it out every time I see it, and that is what this and almost every other Adam Lambert comment section on this site and others have been.
Michael
@Shannon1981:
Well I would have a problem with that as well especially since NO ONE dictates what I say how I say it or where I say it period.
Shannon1981
@Michael: That is the Glamberts’ M.O. Just google Adam Lambert, or, even just search him on this site and look at the comments sections and see what you find.
Michael
@Shannon1981:
Where does the Glam part come from in Glamberts? lol Thanks Ill definitely check that out.
Shannon1981
@Michael: Adam’s “glam rock” style.
Marielle
@MikeE:
It has been said by operasingers (pe Angelina Kalahari, she’s done some radioprograms about him) that AL´s technique matches that of classical singers. On Dutch television there are programs where pop singers are asked to sing classical music (disastrous) and classical singers are asked to sing pop music (hilarious). That proves how difficult it is to do both. What amazes me about AL is that he seems to be able to do anything with his voice, from classical musical (Brigadoon) to modern musical, from ballads to rock. I can’t imagine he is the only person on the planet who can do that, so please give me some names :>)!!
I am not asking this to proof that AL is better than anyone, I am asking this because I love great voices. He only made one record so far and is taking his time on the second one, so how wonderful would it be if I could find other great voices like him (who sing so well technically and can do so many different things with their voice).
Marielle
@Shannon1981:
Wow. I came to this site googling for the latest news on AL’s album, wondered what the hell Dragon Z hair is, found a remark about better singers than AL, asked a question and now I am wreaking havoc, chastising the regulars, idolizing nauseatingly, derailing the conversation, telling you what to thing and say about Adam, acting like I own the place? Excuse me for breathing. Sorry, I don’t enjoy offending people, but ROFL.
You’ve got a point, don’t spoil it by going over the top. I know (some) Glamberts do those things. I also know that any fanbase from any artist does the same (check out YouTube if you don’t believe me; people rolling over the floor fighting over who is the best :>)). Can that be annoying? Yes. It is also an integrate part of the Internet. Any discussion is open to anybody, even to those who YOU find irritating. This is not your house.
Shannon1981
@Marielle: It’s a gay blog clearly aimed at gay people. I’m gay. It is my house.
Shannon1981
@Shannon1981: And the difference between Adam’s fans and the other fans is this: this is a blog aimed at oppressed people. Think about Adam Official, the Official Adam Lambert Fan Club, or any number of AI/Adam centric fan made sites for a moment. All overrun with straight people. Gay people get shouted down in a world where we have to fight just to live every day. Is it really too much to ask that places like this not have the straight community, ridden with heterosexual privilege, come shout us down here too? It would be one thing if they gave a damn about the rest of us. They don’t, though. They show up here when their idol is mentioned. Were they here for the suicide articles, or the marriage ban articles, or the gay bashing articles? No. Why? Because those things do not directly involve Adam Lambert, and are therefore unimportant to them. It’s just really disgusting to me that they think its ok to flaunt their full rights and heterosexual privilege on a gay blog by acting as if they know it all, showing us they rule all, even in a space clearly not meant for them. yes, I am angry and bitter. And with good reason.
Shannon1981
Last comment for @Marielle: not myself. 🙂
ali
@tom you get the queerty award for the dumbest comment in the many years I’ve been reading here.
Ellen is you idol for coming out at the peak of her career.
Adam Lambertis a loser for not coming out when he was a nobody trying to advance on a weekly tv singing show. A show that didn’t even permit idividual interviews.
WHAT???? Hahaha
Now since YOU’re so gung ho on public full disclosure what is YOUR full legal name and city?
Or are you waiting to come out till your at the peak of your career even tho you deny lambert that dignity?
ali
*your idol, not “you idol”

OH LORD!!! That´s probably the first thing that came to mind after reading this thread. It´s just so funny that you can´t see that you all act alike. So busy criticizing each other and defending your point of view that you don´t realize how utterly stupid all this hating is. Sure, everyone has the right to their opinion, and the right to voice it..but come on now…an opinion is not the same thing as a fact, nor is it more valid just because it is yours. And why, for heavens sake, are people getting so rattled up about Adam? I just find it so weird that people at both ends get so fired up and feel the need to express just how much they either hate or love him, his music, his motives etc. (and hate, BTW, is a tad bit strong a word to use so lightly….especially about someone who I bet nobody here knows personally. If someone does, and has reasons to be offended by him, I apologize sincerely for my jumps to conclusions)I personally have many likes and dislikes but I don not expect people to share my views nor do I even want them to. I get that Adam is not up to everyone’s liking..which is fine really. And I also get why people want to defend him if he is getting attacked for no obvious reason. But just take a chill pill you all.
Provocation is just lame, bitching is also just lame and not being able to be happy for someone else ( no matter what ones personal opinion is of that persons music, style,PR tactics, makeup, sex life, behavior, boyfriend, mom, hair,..or even god damn dog walker)is especially lame! You don´t have to like him…just don´t make such a fuzz about it.
And for the record, I really like Adam..his music, his boyfriend, his hair and his…whatever..but that has nothing to do with me snickering at this whole thread. There are far more pressing things, situations and people in this world to worry and get rattled up about. 😀
