Adam Lambert ‘Emerges As A Star’

Taking style cues from Elvis, American Idol hopeful Adam Lambert ditched the attitude and dramatics for a sit-down rendition of Smokey Robinson’s “Tracks Of My Tears.” Do we like? Less powerful than some of his other performances, but the judges loved it (even Simon). BUT WILL AMERICA?!?! OMG U GUYZ!

“6 word: one of the best performances of the night.”

That’s what she said.

Kara’s been incredibly dull and useless this season, and now apparently she can’t count.

Adam was amazing last night, but not like last week, which was, like, OMG WTF WOW.

He actually looked totally do-able last night, though my BF thinks he’s do-able in his neo punk look. lol.

Much better than last weeks butchering.
And like Randy Jackson said great use of the falsetto.

1) Adam was amazing last night, but that’s not surprising because he’s always amazing.

2) While I don’t think that Kara meant it this way, she could have been referring to the number of distinct words in the phrase. Both “of” and “the” were used twice. Sorry, just trying to give her an excuse.

@Jon B: She makes paula look like a towering intellect.

On another note, I am pretty sure everyone knows he is gay, because my dad commented to me about his nail polish last week. Which makes it more important that he wins!

OMG, he looked like a young Kurt Russell last night. Such an important change in his appearance by his stylist was a great move. His range is fabulous and his “out of voice” is just magical. Now, let’s move to an Elvis night and let him cut loose on a gospel song.

What I want to know is, who was that HOT boy in the white scarf that they kept showing clapping for Adam? He was sitting right next to Adam’s dad, so I’m guessing he was Adam’s guest. Mmmmm, yummy! Lucky Adam!!!

LOVE HIM. Love love love.

I think Kara was going to say, “The best perfomance of the night,” or something similar, and changed it at the last second. She’s no smart cookie, but I do kinda like her.

@OSCAR: Seconded. At first glance, I thought it was DLB, which blew my mind for a bit. But then I saw that he was more twinkish and I couldn’t help feeling really jealous of Adam. And the boy-toy, cuz his scarf was cute, too.

I like Adam understated vs. over the top. He was amazing last night. And he needed to show America that he can be clean cut. Because last weeks performance was too gay for them. It was. They couldn’t handle it. Or just didn’t like it.

@scott: Yeah, that’s why he was in the bottom three.

Oh, wait…he wasn’t.

@OSCAR:
@7SnowyNights: That’s Paul McGill! I thought I recognized him but didn’t get a great look, and thankfully they showed him again. He’s an amazingly talented performer too! He was most recently on Broadway in “A Chorus Line” and has been all over the news recently because he’s playing a gay character in the new Fame remake! I saw him in A Chorus Line, and he was absolutely amazing. I can’t wait for Fame to come out! I hope he has a shirtless scene cuz his body is KILLER. Can’t beat a dancer’s body! I guess Adam knows him from his time on Broadway. So cool.

@vernonvanderbilt

according to dialidol, his ranking was #6. Taking Margin of Error into account, he can be ranked #4 to #10. So, while it’s important that he made it thru and gave a great performance this week, he can’t be doing the crap that he did last week (I liked it but America didn’t). Because he needs to be in the top 2-3 always.

He can coast for a few weeks but as previous seasons have shown, some favs go out early… like Tamyra Gray, Jennifer Hudson (I didn’t like her but it seems some people did), and Daughtry (he was cocky, I was glad he got the boot, but I do dig his music).

I personally don’t care. Because I’m not a fan. I do think it would be great to get a gay Idol tho. So, if ur a fan, keep dialing for him. Especially on the weeks he camps it up, because America doesn’t dig the campiness. IMHO.

Adam Lambert obviously is the BIG STAR of the three consecutive shows… No question to that! But whoever questions that is simply not a good sport or worse, does not know what music is.
Even Kara who is vocal of being a BIG FAN of Danny Gokey cannot stop herself in giving Adam a standing ovation and she did realize that his performance was the best that the “six-word remark” she was supposed to say was clearly THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT. But as bias as she truly is, she has to make a last-minute revision to the statement she well prepared in her mind. And to balance her stupidity, she went so gaga when Allison performed to sort of give justice to the comment she gave Adam thinking that the listeners won’t notice. But of course I watched everything she did because somehow I find her interesting but not as interesting as Adam, of course.
Judging is an easy task actually as long as you know how to be neutral and of course you know what you are talking about. Most of the judges end up looking ridiculous because they let their being a fan of another rule their judgment. And occasionally, judgment is restricted within the box that should not be the case if one would really want to be effective.
A good example to this is what happened during the COUNTRY Night. It is damn obvious that Adam rendered the best performance and even if the arrangement he chose is not the standard country everybody could relate to, it is still country if you will base it to the true meaning of what country is. If anyone insists that it was not, then tell me if Anoop and Kris’ renditions are country because they certainly sounded ballad to me but I have accepted them as country music, too.
This early, Simon Cowell is predicting that it would be an Adam-Danny Final show and based on the actual performances, it’s hard to figure-out how Danny could make it. Adam, based on the shows so far, is a sure finalist and the other slot would be in contention amongst Allison, Anoop, Kris and Matt. But based on legitimate votes, Kris might be the guy because his name has not been mentioned in the BOTTOM THREE yet.
My two-cent worth!
