I’ve never seen this many comments since Hillary Versus Barack and Roe V Wade. Obviously, Adam is going to be a lightning rod of a Gay Mega-Star! It takes a long time to process internalized homophobia when someone doesn’t conform to your gender norms and your own fears of acceptance. Often picked-on Gays who identify as masculine can turn into the bullies they were the victims of. It’s just a psychological profile of some on this site. To Romeo: I think I am deluded, I admit, because I kind of thought maybe Adam would be like one of his idols (Bowie), who was gay for decades and then became bi, married Iman (a famous model) and had a child. Don’t know all the ins and outs of being gay-but just maybe Adam could do that. He said he found womem to be beautiful. Am I that far off track that the above is really a total impossibility? Adam really seemed to enjoy the ladies screeming for him. I saw him live on the tour and he was not faking that enjoyment.

Totally like the cover for the single and I like the song. But, good grief that album cover is just wrong, wrong and wrong. Who in the world does Adam have advising him or is he just so head strong that he doesn’t listen to anyone. That album is so over the top fem/drag queen. I accept Adam and his lifestyle with no problems. I mean I was a little uncomfortable with him being on cocaine in 2006 because he was depressed he said and the acid in 2008 bothered me-sorry.
I find it strange that on all those tour stops he could see the type of people that were fans (even the smelly ones) and yet that cover looks like he is not going after the gays or straights-just the drag queens.
Just disappointed in him. In the Details article he said he was a business person, hum, not so much Adam.

BTW, Romeo, I’m not “disillusoned” by Adam’s cover. I just think he is more gorgeous when he looks like himself. Adam is a hot, sexy man, and I like that look better. If Adam chooses a role, or cover shoot that requires him to create a different image then it’s all good. I want the man to be able to work, and choose the roles that he wants. I like the pictures of Adam in Details more than this. That’s my preference. If Adam had a sex change tonight I would still support him and his music. re: the gay thread. No really, they are gay women on there and late teens. I don’t go “in” there much frankly because it’s poignant and sad for me and nothing I can contribute. And just like here it’s not my place. Yes they celebrate Adam and in the most sweet and quiet way. But you sort of feel like you are imposing on their most private moments because the young girls are sharing coming out stories of rejection and hurt.

I think that’s what you saw, they were consoling a kid who’s father disowned her and mother ignores her since she came out to them. You can tell it’s not hyperbole it took her a long time to actually go into it and she was not the least bit dramatic, she was quiet, scared and alone. SRSLY.

Adam introduced Cassidy Haley and he’s a comfort to teens. Nice guy. He tries to help them deal. She came out after being inspired by him and the SHTF.

Sterotyping us girls as generally “different” in style than you guys so there alot of “talking” “sharing” “helping” lol

But in there there’s whispering. I don’t know how to describe it. For me (yeah I sound dramatic) it feels like being in an intimate dark room and hearing/seeing quiet hurt with the young girls. The kids haven’t found their voice and face such a tough path and the adults are trying to be gentle.

The contrast to the “other” Adam threads which are rambunctious, raucous, in your face, manic, and funny sorta.

f*ck, I really didn’t need to get into that on such an epic day but I think the least I can do is bridge some divide here…Yes Adam is helping people.

I wish there were a gay site that would follow him professionally and personally as in printing his epic four part interview from the summer done by L.A. Times. Instead of all places that just make jokes or whatever. Isn’t it the most ironic thing ,yes. As has been said.
