Ads Target Homophobia In Black Comms.

gmad-1.JPG
New York based Gay Men of African Descent has been placing these ads all over the city. As you can see, they’re taking aim at homophobic language, which can be nearly as painful as actual bullets.

Copyranter saw this poster in a subway at 181st street – you know, where all the black people live. We’ve yet to see one in predominantly white Chelsea. If any of you guys see one, please do let us know…

Um, are you suggesting that the ad should run in “predominantly white Chelsea,” or do you just want to see one without having to risk going uptown and hearing a slur, or just slightly worse, a bullet?
