Mateo Stanford, an adult film performer whose real name was Mario Da Silva, died earlier this month at age 35.
Stanford worked for numerous adult film studios such as Kristen Bjorn, UKnakedmen, Hardkinks, MenAtPlay and Timtales. A post on website PinkINOurLives (NSFW) describes Stanford as “a sweet, sensitive guy” who “loved to have a good time and enjoyed the company of his friends.” His funeral was held on June 13 in Valencia, Spain, where he was born and lived.

I spent most of last night, when this news was fresher by the way, downloading Stanford material that had gotten away from me. Maybe it’s like any artist: when they’re dead, the curiosity and value on their work goes up. I did the same thing after the news of Erik Rhodes and Arpad Miklos.

I doubt that most of the people posting knew of this performer. I hadn’t. The guy appears to have been based in Europe, all of the listed companies are european, except maybe for Kristen Bjorn (who used to be based in Brazil).
I think it is in error to assume that European performers are just like the performers who end up with the San Francisco and LA studios.

Anybody with a computer and a TV knew about Charleston before they went to bed Wednesday night.
