AFA Launches Fresh McD Attack

ronmcdpray.jpg
Social conservatives are upping the ante in their war against McDonald’s, the restaurant that no doubt raised them.

People like the American Family Association are absolutely seeing red over the fast food chain’s National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.

McDonald’s apparently attempted to quell their rage, but only ended up making them more mad, according to an AFA Action Alert…

McDonald’s is still trying to distort their support for the homosexual agenda by twisting words. While McDonald’s says it is not a member of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, the NGLCC website proudly lists them as a “Corporate Partner and Organizational Ally.” In a telephone call from McDonald’s Vice-President Jack Daly, on May 2, he confirmed to AFA that it gave $20,000 to the NGLCC.

In addition, Daly told AFA that Richard Ellis, vice president of communications for McDonald’s, is a “gay man” and personally approved the $20,000 donation to the NGLCC. Mr. Daly also claimed that Richard Ellis was elected to the NGLCC board as a private citizen and not a representative of McDonald’s. Yet, Richard Ellis is listed on the NGLCC website as Vice President of Communications, McDonald’s USA.

So dedicated to promoting gay activities on public streets, McDonald’s sponsored the 2007 San Francisco Gay Pride parade with a television commercial. In the ad, McDonald’s brags that it is “a company that actively demonstrates its commitment to the gay and lesbian community.”

We’ve gone ahead and included the AFA’s low-budget footage of the offending gay pride commercial.

What a bunch of tools…

I really hope McD’s doesn’t cave. The AFA and lot are quickly loosing influence and they are scared. McD’s should just ignore them and let the pathetic creature die…

Do these boycotts ever work? Did Disney go out of business? No, and they still have Gay Days.

If there’s any company in the world that’s big enough an ubiquitous enough to thum their noses at a bunch of over-clenched right wing christianists, it’s McDonald’s. They should treat these people the way I treat a dog that runs away from my yard… screw it… he’ll be back when he’s hungry.

lol @ AFA

They’re like little fleas nagging at you, but not really making much of an impact.

McD’s could totally give these guys the big F.U. + not exactly hurt for lack of their business.

If you knew Mr. Ellis personally you might feel differently. He’s really a scumbag – whether or not he’s gay isn’t really an issue – but, he is a real scumbag that’s particularly good at telling people want they want to hear, yet acting in a way that is completely opposite. He’s also pretty good at surrounding himself with idiots so as to appear better than he really is. NGLCC will soon find out that McD’s support is not worth having this scumbag on the board – then this will be moot.
