Afternoon Aural: ABC

A reader reminded us of how much ABC’s “The Look Of Love” tickles our aural fancy. We can’t believe it’s never crossed these blessed pages in the past.

OMG! The HAIR! The COSTUMES! What were we thinking, back then? This is pure guyere! The 80s were soooo surreal! Thank you, Queerty, for making me feel old.

I love it.

Other great 80s groups (with a surreal flair):
The Fixx
Madness
Duran Duran
A Flock of Seagulls (is cliche)
Human League

You have put me in such a New Wave mood. Thanks

I have this cd at work and I also love ‘Shoot that poison arrow’. Another time.

The artificiality of the 80s in dress and clothing was in retaliation for the earth-toned hippy garb of the 70s. A teased up, bleached blond beehive was really quite refreshing at the time.

Instant pop classic. Doesn’t get much better then some ABC.

What was the ABC song that had them singing their lament at the beginning and a female answer at the end?
