Afternoon Aural: Enya

Yeah, Enya’s ridiculous, but we’re proud to say we love her. Okay, “love” may be a bit strong, but we’ve been known to partake in a little Enya aural. Now you can, too, with “Storms in Africa” and “Orinoco Flow”!

I really do love enya’s music. It is very healing to hear it. Am I right? (Of course I am.) In fact, I would be very suspicious of someone who said they didn’t like enya’s music! And to note, “Orinoco Flow” mentions Rob Dickins (at the time he was Warner Bros. Music UK CEO) and Ross (with a reference to his smoking habits if I am not mistaken). It’s cleverly disguised and unless you read the lyrics or someone tells you about (thank you!) you might miss it completely. I also heard the song was done toward the end of the album as a song not to be taken so seriously, as a very light-hearted song (which it is). Can you imagine if it wasn’t included on the album and released as a single?
