Afternoon Aural: Lykke Li

Many thanks to reader Chris for recommending Swedish songster Lykke Li’s “A Little Bit”. Yes, Chris, the tune’s catchy and those male dancers tickled our fancy.

We’ve also included an acoustic version of Li’s “I’m Good, I’m Gone,” which features pop star Robyn, The Concretes‘ Daniel Värjö, Adam Olenius and Bebban Stenborg of Shout Out Louds and a few of Li’s other aural pals.

Lykke Li is also a play on words in Swedish.

The word “lykke” means “happiness” and “lykkelig” means “happy.” (Funny that the word for happy is longer than the word for happiness in Swedish.) So, Lykke Li, which is pronounced the same as lykkelig basically means “happy.”
