Back in the early 90s didn’t a member of this group attack a club owner because they didn’t know they were booked in a gay club and then freaked out about it? Not a very gay friendly group to have on Queerty.

There comes a point when you have to take a breath, relax, dance and forget about whether or not a performer was/is “Gay Friendly”. Its music. Its meant to be enjoyed.

If you were around in the gay club scene in the early 90s this was a BIG deal. Yes, I just read the Wiki page where it says it was just a comment, but that’s revisionist history. When it happened it was called an assault. Unless the news stories from back then were wrong.

There’s a big difference between being “gay friendly” and attacking someone because they’re gay.
uugh… one band member made a “comment” that COULD have been conceived as anti-gay…
and of course it was.
an apology was issued, all is well. the music is now safe to dance to without succumbing to subliminal messages of homophobia.
