We dedicate this - Stevie Wonder's "My Cherie Amour" - to Lauren Williams of Stereohyped. Why? Because she asked us to post it. We're a sucker for a pretty woman - not literally, of course.
Give "For Once In My Life" a listen, after the jump…
"My Cherie Amour" was something of an accidental hit, actually riding the B-side of the more traditional R&B number "I Don't Know Why," which was initially the side intended for promotion when Motown released the record January 28, 1969. By April-May, "Cherie" was not to be denied, and started its chart climb. Along with Jr. Walker's "What Does It To Take To Win Your Love," "Cherie" became a definitive Motown hit of that summer.
