Afternoon Aural: T. Rex

T. Rex’s “Jeepster” tore up the charts in 1971, when it clawed its way to the number two chart slot. Was it singer Marc Bolan’s guitar skills or the fact that their former record company, Fly Records, caused a scandal by releasing the record without the band’s permission. We may never know, but we’re glad Fly sent this wild track into the world.
