I’ll never understand why these guys stopped having top ten hits, but they did after 1964. Why Motown didn’t reach out and snap up these proven winners when things got stale at Atlantic is a mystery. But “Roof,” “Boardwalk,” “Broadway,” “Count The Tears,” and “Last Dance” will always seal their immortality.
