Former NBA All-Star Kevin Johnson probably thought himself a shoe-in in Sacramento's mayoral election. He was wrong – and the opposition he faces can at least in part be credited to his right-wing definition of marriage. [365 Gay]

I hope he loses because he played for the Phoneix Suns and I hate that team. Also, he is a 42 year-old bachelor…do I smell something hiding in his closet?
I've never understood why anyone would consider someone as even remotely qualified to hold public office simply because of the notoriety they've attained from playing professional sports. Aside from that, Kevin Johnson has proven himself to be a less than effective mover and shaker in the community considering his failures with his real estate dealings in Oak Park. Instead of fulfilling his promise to better the neighborhood he has added to the urban blight already existing in that beleaguered neighborhood. Add to that the slightest hint of his being homophobic and that should be all we need to loudly oppose his becoming the next mayor of Sacramento.
Shoo-in, not shoe-in
