We felt mega-bummed when we heard that Senator Al Franken didn’t even bother entering his Student Non-Discrimination Act (SNDA) into a major education bill this last Thursday. But perhaps our mega-bummed feelings were premature.
Franken apparently withheld his pro-LGBT SNDA because of fears that its inclusion would have jeopardized bipartisan support for the entire education bill. Now he’s promised to introduce the bill in the Senate and thinks he’ll have the votes to pass it. Fingers crossed.

That is a repulsive and vile comment to make.I don’t give a damn whether it was snarky sarcastic or whatever that was beyond uncalled for and a slap in the face to all these kids and teens who took their lives due to bullying. You’re a horrible person period.

I am very proud to have Franken as one of my Senators! I continually hear his name popping up related to bills and issues that I agree with. My one regret is that I left his spot blank on my ballot as I liked neither him nor Coleman at the time. He has more than earned my vote next time!

I probably should add that it’s not just hearing him associated with things I support, but hearing him outspoken in support of them.

‘Get our way”?
being free of harrassment and physical violence is “getting our way”?
