It really bums me out to learn the Brits consider alcohol to be more harmful than any other drug, because I just don’t think holding a “heroin and tonic” or a “crack on the rocks” is going to be a viable way to cruise around a bar while trying to pick up guys.

Makes sense. Alcohol consumption is far more widespread and socially acceptable than drugs like heroin or crack. Alcoholism is also far more prevalent than drug addiction.

It’s also a huge issue on the other side of the pond do to binge drinking which is why they have been trying to extend bar hours in the hopes that people will slow down and enjoy the night out rather then drinking as much as they can before the bar closes. Leave it to Queerty to make a story about something they don’t understand.

Way to not bother reading into the second paragraph of the article.
“Led by the sacked government drugs adviser David Nutt with colleagues from the breakaway Independent Scientific Committee on Drugs, the study says that if drugs were classified on the basis of the harm they do, alcohol would be class A, alongside heroin and crack cocaine.”
So while heroin and crack cocaine do craptons of acute harm, alcohol just does more overall. How common do you think it is that stupid kids get high off of coke and then ram their car into pedestrians and store fronts? Or beat their children while high off of heroine?
I know you have to get your snark off of something but, to be frank, you sound more and more stupid and desperate every time I come here.
