Irish legislators are watching 41-year old politico Ian Paisley Jr's mouth.
The Committee on Standards and Privileges opened an investigation in Paisley's recent anti-gay remarks, during which he said,
I am pretty repulsed by gay and lesbianism. I think it is wrong. I think that those people harm themselves and – without caring about it – harm society.
Some of Paisley's peers think his comments contradict his duty to serve all of Ireland's citizens. Paisley's defenders, meanwhile, insist he's free to have an opinion.
For his part, Paisley's apparently unconcerned. Says a friend, "It is not something he is losing any sleep about."
