This post is brought to you by the letter “H” for “hate.” A man who claims he was sexually abused by Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash was the victim of yet another gay-biased hate crime in New York, which has recently been plagued by a series of violent attacks.
According to the NY Post:
Kevin Kiadii, 25 — who claims that when he was 16 Clash sodomized him — was kicked and punched repeatedly Wednesday night in Prospect Park by five men who yelled anti-gay slurs at him and a pal, sources said yesterday.
“I’ll kill you, faggot,” one of the men said, according to Kiadii.
“I said, ‘You’re disrespecting me,’ ” said Kiaddi, a professional makeup artist.
“He stood up and punched me in the face — straight sucker punch. It hurt.”
Kiadii was able to defend himself with a bottle of perfume, using it as pepper spray on the man who punched him. “If it wasn’t for my Dior bottle, I’d be in so much damage,” he told the Post. Kiadii sustained an injury to his finger, scratches on his arm and face and bruises on his shoulder and ribs before cops arrived. The five men, ages 16-21, were charged with gang assault.
This marks at least the tenth anti-gay attack to occur in recent weeks. On May 17, 32-year-old Mark Carson was shot dead in Greenwich Village by a gunman who hurled homophobic insults at him. Then on Sunday, an unidentified 27-year-old man was punched twice on the J train by a man who made homophobic comments towards him.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
As for Kiadii, he’s the fifth man to sue Clash, 52, for sexual abuse; he filed a lawsuit in April alleging that Clash “trolled gay telephone chat-line rooms to meet and have sex with underage boys.”

Apparently Straight people never get mugged or shot in New York….imagine that….

Prospect Park at Night? hmmm

This whole story sounds suspicious. Like, “I didn’t get enough attention when I claimed Elmo victimized me, so I’ll make up another story about being victimized.” And the Dior bottle? I’m sure he carries one, but the story just sounds too precious to be believed. How did the Post come across this story? Did the “victim” report it or did they scour it out from the police?

@balehead: Are you suggesting being attacked for being gay and getting mugged are the same thing? Both are bad. They are not the same. Robbery is one thing. Assaulting someone to physically hurt them for who they are is wildly different.

I have mixed feelings about young guys who hook up with older men and then claim they were victims. The older men should know better than to go there, but still, it seems like holow protestation. As far as the gay bashing, the article says they arrested 5 men, so, yes, it does seem like he was attacked. But that’s only if you bother to actually read the article.

But when he said “You’re disrespecting me” did he say it in full-on lisp mode and do the neck wiggle? Cause I’d probably have sucker punched him too, and I generally like gay men.

@balehead:
Huh. Straight people getting mugged often happens without the underlying stigma and potential hate crime that mugging a gay person might. When was the last time anyone killed someone while screaming “I hate you, hetero?”
And more to the point: these weren’t muggings.

@Stenar: seriously this attack was also in the newspapers in NYC. Excuse me just because he may have been gay and 16 didn’t mean he asked to be raped by Kevin Clash. Just so you know being gay is NOT a club and we are not members. Rape is rape just like if a whore for money is raped and says NO – no means no. Fuckhead.

Clash “trolled gay telephone chat-line rooms to meet and have sex with underage boys.”
Not to focus on Clash but im sorry they have thrown this mans name in the dirt for some $$. None of these men claim he raped them just had sex with them and in almost every situation the boys were on gay chat lines which are notorious for sex.
That is why clash is not facing criminal charges. Remember the dancer Shane Sparks? He got arrested after a supposed rape that happened 10+ years ago. I remember being 16 and guess what? I was ready to screw! Not trying to ruffle feathers just telling people to keep it real. It’s suspect that clash hooked up with so many young boys but there is no doubt they were more than willing. If they are all on gay chat lines what are they looking for if not sex?
I hope he gets better from the attack though..

And these young men all went back for repeats. And now they complain to make money out of it. Pretty shady. Statutory rape, apparently. Rape, not by a long shot.

the whole thing is awful. he was no innocent victim when he had sex with clash. but he sure didn’t deserve to be attacked by a gang of 5 homophobes. though using the perfume like pepper spray was a nice touch.

Those phone chat lines always have a minimum age of 18. This guy lies about his age and then complains when someone believes him. Ridiculous.

The whole thing is rather suspect. I have nothing against LGBTQ folks whatsoever, but it appears that Mr. Kiadii has had an agenda for a while, so I’ll call out a couple of notable items.
In both his interviews on the Kevin Clash affair and the CBS Channel 2 Interview, he made the comment on both occasions that he wanted to tell his story. Both times, similar wording. So what is that story? Weren’t his 15 minutes of notoriety with the Elmo’s puppeteer enough publicity for him, or was he simply looking to promote himself yet again? Honest question, and if you’ll notice that the NY Post actually got the connection between both stories correct. WCBS? Missed it completely.
That he lives in the Bronx makes me more suspect that he’s walking around Prospect Park in Brooklyn at a very late hour. While he has a right to be there, it’s poor judgment to do so, AND confront unfriendly teenagers who are out looking for trouble? I’m not saying that what ‘may have happened’ to the guy was justified or correct, but c’mon…he either has no common sense in his actions, or he’s a publicity whore. Let’s just call it like it is, his record speaks for itself.
