Alleged Gay Basher Cole White Makes Things Easy on Police, Turns Himself In
Cole White (pictured), 24, turned himself in to Santa Cruz police after beating a 30-something gay man at a bar early Sunday morning. Not only was White screaming gay slurs (we’re guessing “faggot”?) while attacking the man, there was collateral damage: “The incident occurred both inside and outside the bar, located on the 900 block of Pacific Avenue, and spurred a robbery — a friend of White’s is accused of stealing the victim’s cell phone because it contained a photo of White — and a second fight, where an 18-year-old woman allegedly punched a man in front of the club, according to police. The man suspected in the robbery and the young woman were both arrested early Sunday, according to police.”
Part of the story is what a sorry-ass loser this guy is. Part of the story is the probable 6 months of court probation he will be sentenced with. But a BIG part of the story? The Blue Lagoon in Santa Cruz, which 86′d the VICTIM and threw him back onto the street to get beat up again by this guys’ friends.

I go to Santa Cruz, and I’m disgusted that not a single member of the gay community here (both in the town and at the university) have even mentioned the incident. This stuff is happening in our own backyards, and nobody seems to give a shit.
Which is why this sort of thing continues to happen in this country. And as tuition goes up, the university continues to increase its population of privileged, rich, homophobic orange county folk. So the atmosphere of homophobia that exists here will continue to do just that: exist.
That’s just fucking great.

He boasts on his facebook page that he had just been released from jail in early December; fast-forward just 1 month and he’s in jail again.
Prison for life? Not for a singular fisticuffs incident; BUT, this shithead is an habitual criminal who thinks his rights as a fist-pounding jerk supercede the rights of the general (gay and straight) public to enjoy the local Santa Cruz community. How about a prison term equal to the amount of time each of his victims will spend recovering from the physical and emotional toll of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
