American Apparel Has Something New, and Gay, To Sell You

So are these the tees "socialite" Jonny Makeup is designing for American Apparel? Or just a fortunate coincidence that the basics apparel company has updated its line of queer-friendly tees from just "Legalize Gay" to these two new designs?

There's "Pair at Gay Parade" ("A pair marches down Santa Monica Blvd. in the West Hollywood Gay Pride Parade, 1984") and "Anti-Homophobe Rally" ("Protestors outside an Anaheim hotel in 1989, holding signs to silently demonstrate their opposition to homophobia"), both featuring newspaper photos from the times.

All we need is a "Go Fuck Yourself, Phelps" hoodie and we're good to go!

(Thanks, Jerome!)

I'd love to know the reason for the Anaheim hotel demonstration… considering it's the home of Disneyland, a rather gay-friendly place… and a scant few miles from my house.

Anybody have anything on this?
