Americans For Truth About Homosexuality Gets Its Tax-Exempt Status Back!

Just in time for National Coming Out Day: Professional homophobe Peter LaBarbera announced that his vicious anti-gay group, Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, has gotten its tax-exempt status restored:

We are happy to report that Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) has been reinstated by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.  This means that all donations to Americans For Truth are fully tax-deductible under U.S. law.

The effective, retroactive date of exemption provided by the IRS is December 28, 2011. Thus all donation made to AFTAH from that date onward can be deducted in donor’s annual tax filings.

The IRS evoked the group’s exemption last year, according to LaBarbera, “for failing to submit the required paperwork.” Some LGBT groups linked the change to AFTAH, which is dedicated “to exposing the homosexual activist agenda,” having been designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

In addition to letting friends know they should keep them checks coming, LaBarbera, 49, took time to refute a rumor that he was forced to sling Frappuccinos to make ends meet:

A homosexual activist who follows me on Twitter misinterpreted my Tweet about “working at Starbucks” — i.e., on my laptop using their WiFi — as me actually being employed by the upscale coffee company. The “Starbucks job” rumor found its way to other homosexualist websites, as part of the ongoing “gay” campaign to discredit AFTAH.

Oh Peter, there’s no ongoing gay campaign to discredit AFTAH—you’re doing far too god a job of that yourself.

If you want to congratulate LaBarbera on AFTAH’s reinstatement or, y’know, say something else, you can reach him at 630-546-4439 or [email protected]. We’re sure he’d looove to hear from you.
