“A week ago, most Americans had never heard of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Now, following a Vice Presidential acceptance speech viewed live by more than 40 million people, Palin is viewed favorably by 58% of American voters… Perhaps most stunning is the fact that Palin’s favorable ratings are now a point higher than either man at the top of the Presidential tickets this year. As of Friday morning, Obama and McCain are each viewed favorably by 57% of voters. [Joe] Biden is viewed favorably by 48%.” [Rasmussen]

Wow, that’s scary!

My Dear,
This is only the beggining. It will change very shortly!

The duo to continue the suffering of a dying America!
Gregoire
Its because nobody knows anything about her and she doesnt talk to the press. Trust me, those likeability numbers will start plummeting.
Tom
The repugs have nothing to run…so everything they mocked about Obama they are now imitating. They are now running on a campaign of change and they are turning Palin into a celebrity. The difference of course is stark, their change is more of the same and Palin has no substance.
The reason people are inspired by Obama is because of his ideas, vision and credibility….all of which are completely absent in the McCain camp.
John
The stock market has plunged on the ending days of the Republican National Convention. That means the market thinks McCain will lose. As Peggy Noonan would say “It’s over”.

Most voters choose their candidates based less on their qualifications but on who they like most. This has been described as who they would most like to sit around in a bar and have a drink with.
People would most like to have a drink with Sarah Palin. The women admire her for her accomplishments — the quys are hoping they can get her drunk and get a piece of tail.
But the Queerty guys will never like her.
adb
This is really only half a story. I’d like to see how many people view these folks UNfavorably. I saw a poll on Good Morning America this morning where Palin’s ‘unfavorable’ rating was twice as high as Biden’s.
Nitesurf
If the MSM would do their damn jobs and start looking into the MANY controversial reports that are floating around about Sarah Palin, those numbers would plummet. And I’m not talking about all her family drama crap either.

Read the fine print:
This national survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted by Rasmussen Reports September 4, 2008. The margin of sampling error for each survey is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

@RyanInSacto
Thanks for pointing that out. That’s exactly what I was going to show.

^^YES- statistics are such bs, and Americans seem to eat them up.

Ugh. She’s a miserable bitch.

This election, the four most dangerous words will be “Too Close To Call!”

Bush once had around a 90% approval rating, didn’t he?
Jaroslaw
ADB & Gregoire – you’re right – if she got 0.1% of the negative coverage Bill Clinton got, those numbers would be much less.
However, people don’t like facts, they like innuendo apparently. The facts are squarely against her and same here, not talking about the family drama. But that never stopped a moron.
A friend at work said she thought Sarah would be positively great as VP because she is a common person, and down to earth.
I don’t know much about this person’s politics but I do know Republicans – they would have a field day if Obama had a pregnant daughter and named his kids Track, Trig etc. What the hell was she thinking anyway? I’m not blasting her for being an imperfect parent, but just a hypocrit AND irrational – abstinence doesn’t work, birth control and education do. Right here where I live, Gay and Aids activists cannot talk about disease prevention and transmission in Detroit Public Schools because of super conservative religious folks. Downlow anyone?
Jaroslaw
meant to say “a moron voting or responding to an opinion poll…” Sorry
porsha
bullshit!
polobear
what an empty speech she gave! yah so she can read an insult
Caribou Barbie for pres!
(heard it somewhere can’t take credit but thought it was brilliant but if she can copy a joke so can I)

You know, the Republicans just might win this. The majority of Americans are stupid, I must say. The economy is in the toilet, but trot out an attractive creationist, and they forget all about the reality of the world.
And the Dems are disappointing me. Playing nice doesn’t work, as the Republicans prove time and time again.
McCain is a change agent. Plain is a reformer. The earth is flat. The sky is green. And I am a kangaroo. Say it enough and it is true.
Jaroslaw
Porsha – writing actual sentences too challenging for you?

When all is said and done, Sarah Palin has a story middle America (and some of the 18 million women voters who felt betrayed by Obama’s pick) all want to hear and want to believe. Obama’s supporters were hard on Hillary and vice versa. Joe Biden was hard on Obama and vice versa. In the end Sarah will throw the first fresh salvo on Biden next week and then punch Obama in the face, blow by blow. She is a reformer…she made mistakes and she is a touch political barracuda. She will question Biden’s 30 years of so so foreign policy experience including the vietnam war, the gulf war…she will grill him. And then she will move on to Obama…she will ask him “what makes you better than me? Have you run a city and a state, no matter how big or small? Who are you to question my experience when you yourself have none to brag about?
polobear
She left the city in debt after her tenure, the people like her because she taxed oil companies and put money in their pockets..that sounds more like Obama than McCain, at the end of the day people vote for people they like she may be too scandal ridden (true or not) for people to stomach
McCain is still top of the ticket and he has some major flip-flopping issues
