Attending the birthday party of gay NYC nightlife mensch Josh Wood, Anderson Cooper made the rounds last week at a Chelsea Hotel suite with his boyfriend Ben Maisani — which isn’t all that surprising, because Mr. Cooper doesn’t shy away from the gays as much as you’d expect, given his on-air closet. But the ultimate snub of the evening, relays Michael Musto, was delivered to Lucas Entertainment’s Michael Lucas: “I hear [Anderson] talked to a lot of people at the party–but not porn titan Michael Lucas, who knows him and thought getting dissed was weird.” Actually, the ultimate snub of the evening went to Michael Musto, who wasn’t invited.

Isn’t it time we left Anderson Cooper alone? He’s rich, he’s successful, he’s smart and he’s gloriously handsome. If he’s gay, he’s gay. If he’s not, he’s not. Let him have a life free of all this speculaton. Leave the timing up to him.

I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting him personally, but I’m told by a couple of friends who know him that he doesn’t have a pretentious bone in his body. I understand that he even worked as a waiter in a restaurant (Mortimer’s) when he was an adolescent.

JoeMyGod.blogspot.com ran a video of Lucas at the Ann Coulter speech sponsored by the GOProud homocons, and showed him in the audience. I haven’t checked whether or not the video is on youtube. Anyway, Coulter was insulting about gay civil rights.The event was a fundraiser for GOProud, which is against about everything that specifically helps gays.

Maybe Anderson just doesn’t like Lucas. Maybe it’s not an issue of visibility, but simply the fact that he finds Lucas distasteful. Anderson is a public person and a celebrity of some status in mainstream American media. It’d damage his image to be seen engaging with a pornographer.
I’d certainly think less of Anderson if he did *shrugs*.

Do you Queens really think gay youths look towards Anderson Cooper and Rachael Meadow for support in their coming out?! How are celebrities going to stop kids from being bullied or parents from not being supportive?

But then again the LGBT community is a stupid one. We like gays to wear rainbow bracelets but cringe at men with bio-hazard tattoos?
