I don't think it's intentional on his part, but the not dancing, not coming out, etc. works very well for getting people to obsess over him. This just seems to drive some people crazy. I have heard rumors that he has discussed the possiblity of comming out, the consensus is that it would not have a negative effect on his current position. However he is gunning to replace Larry King and his people feel coming out would prevent that assignment. Some media personalities, especially at state and local levels don't even use their real name on-air. It seems somewhat similar to a woman continuing to use her maiden name at work eventhough she is married.

If someone like Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity were closeted, I could understand the uproar, because they pronounce anti-gay sentiments from their "pulpits." People don't dis Barbara Walters about being professionally discreet about her affair for years and years.

I happend to know that Brian (above) is right. Anderson has done many kind and generous things for people, but always with complete discretion, almost anonymity.

Being in bed with someone who is fit and attractive definitely adds to the experience. Nobody is saying it is everything to sex, but it is an asset in sex and of course fitness is an asset in life generally. @Melly….He likes to date people who are different than himself and non-WASPy. The guy Anderson dated for years who he thanked in his book is a blatino Dominican. Reportedly he had a black boyfriend for a while when he was with ABC News.

His mother is the same way about being attracted to people who aren't from her own background. Look at her husbands: an italian who was Lucky Luciano's right hand man in LA, a european conductor, a jewish director and a guy from a southern farm family. Gloria was dating the black director of Shaft when Anderson was a teenager.

@RRR, I wasn't aware of Anderson's actual history with men of color, but considering his mom's openess to dating outside of her race, I guess it's not surprising that her son would follow suit.
