It’s not enough for Christine O’Donnell to prove herself neither a constitutional expert or an American worthy of citizenship, as she did at a debate with her Democratic Senate challenger Christ Coons. But we need Anderson Cooper, even after giving her the benefit of the doubt (“Perhaps Ms. O’Donnell was simply trying to say the literal phrase separation of church and phrase is not in the first amendment –that’s true”), Cooper points out that this is a woman who prides herself on having a “deep” understanding of and being an “advocate” of that silly piece of parchment. The Daily Show-style jokes write themselves if you just plug in “Christine O’Donnell AND Constitution” into a transcript search.

This woman is a fucking idiot and people are beginning to realize this, even her supporters. Admittedly though, I would love to hear Shitforbrains Palin defend her utter incompetence. More of that “gotcha media”! Both piles of excrement.
Screaming Queen
The witch was right, and sadly, she’s more informed than the writer of this drivel, Anderson Cooper, or Chris Coons; who was unable to list the other four freedoms of the first amendment…..gee I wonder why you left out that part? (ROTF)
It’s crap like this that’s going to damage the credibility of all the democrats running for office, and the liberal media that pushes propaganda instead of NEWS!……so thanks for that, you’re help with the great gay exodus from the democrats is appreciated (LMAOROTF)
Oh, and I’m soooooo done with all of my Anderson fantasies, his hotness can’t overcome his dishonesty. *spits*

I once considered myself Republican and conservative, but left when the party and movement started coveting mediocracy and ignorance. A perfect example.

@FreddyMertz: How’s Ethel doin? :p
What makes me really ascared is that once upon a far more sane time, these certifiable nutbag lunatics were on the ballots as the fringe party candidates. You may have read about their wacked out platforms and gotten a good laugh. Now you find these “candidates” representing the repugnatican party. Upon her nomination even people like Karl Rove were aghast and decried how utterly unqualifed she was. Quickly the lemming like lunatics drowned out their concern and they were forced to backtrack. Some of the crap going down from the teabaggers is downright frightening. In Alaska the US senate candidates personal security team tackled handcuffed, and detained a reporter for simply asking questions he deemed “off limits”. One would hope that sane folks would see right thru the extreme out of touch rhetoric these nutbags spew and not even consider casting a vote for them. Very unfortnately for us many of them actually are polling ahead of the Dems.
I don’t care if you need to use a dozen clothes pins to cover you nose as you vote, each and every Gay person needs to get to the polls and make sure you vote for the Dems. We may have lots of problems with the current congress, however we will face much greater pains if the repugnaitcans gain the majority in the next two weeks………….
In the past it was many times the metaphorical lesser of two evils. This time there are truly evil candidates on the ballots many of whom have a good chance of being elected

@FreddyMertz: Congratulations, Freddy, but there’s nothing ‘started’ about it.
” Part of the reason stupid people are drawn to conservatism is that the intelligent conservatives have always been willing to indulge and support ignorance in order to conserve their own wealth and power. [Sarah] Palin is the culmination of the progress of the stupid conservative from beast of burden to Red Nosed Reindeer. ”

And I’d say that’s no less accurate a description of O’Donnell as well.

for anyone who is interested Talking Points Memo put together a good history of evolution of the establishment clause and the separation of church and state

@dvlaries: That is an awesome quote. Man, this chick is right up there with Palin. Someone who thinks that just by smiling and looking pretty they can get away with anything, In this case, making stupid statements. Sadly, probably 85% of the time, being pretty does work.
Let’s quote that baby again:

She’s going to use the constitution to make all her legislative decisions? The constitution isn’t an oracle; I don’t know what role the constitution will play if she has to decide to vote on reauthorizing Medicare funding. I think she believes that if she says the phrase “I will follow the constitution” enough times then it will magically make people believe she’s qualified.

Anderson is at the top of his game. He made the points in perfect order, and with back up video for each. It was beautiful.
He did miss one point. Coons quoted the ammendment’s exact words, and she said, ‘that’s in the first ammendment?’ She didn’t even know the famous words, ‘Governemnt shall make no law etc..’ that the rest of us can recite in our sleep.
This is nothing new. Fundamentalists also claim to be bible experts. But after moving to Stickville 20 years ago, it’s become clear to me that they know zip about scripture. They want prayer in school, regardless that Jesus doesn’t appreciate self important prayers. They’ve trampled minorities for centuries, despite biblical demands for mercy for the oppressed.
Those are just 2 examples. The list of their ignorance goes on forever, and I can’t understand why liberals never call them on this stuff. The arrogance of these people – to claim to be experts when they don’t know even the basics – is beyond belief.
Again, great job Mr. Hot Cooper.

If we were in a truly Socialist nation as she and her Masturbating Teabaggers have alleged she would be sterilized and committed for the safety of society. She’s to bloody stupid to have voting privileges.

She’s definitely going to make her decisions based on the Constitution, that is, as long as she has a copy of it in front of her so she knows WTF it actually states.

@WillBFair: Anything that has intelligence, anything that requires a reasoned approach, is anathema to these people. They wear their ignorance as badges, identify themselves with the poorest spelling and grammer, accuse any one capable of stringing a complete sentence coherently, as effete intellectuals who are conspiring against them to take the country over the brink of socialism and godlessness. We see here the institutionalizing of stupidity. O’Donnell may well be Queen of the badgirls in this atmosphere.

O’Donnell is a sorry soul. I almost feel bad for her. What is it with the Republicans and their quests for Sarah Palin wannabes? Are we going to hear, “I can see Atlantic City from my house?” You betcha’!
scott ny'er
@McMike: Umm. Even if she had a copy of the Constitution in front of her, what makes you think she’d be able to comprehend it? Sadly, I’m not even joking about this.

Anderson– you’re a political hero even if you dont realize it. You have managed to expose on several occasions the dangers that mainstream media and extreme-ism movements in the US create in the promotion and propagation of such”IDIOCRATS” as viable candidates for high public office positions.

Im shocked that later in the interview she claims to be a graduate fellow of constitutional government at Claremont….did she get a magic decoder ring with that?

O’Donnell may well be a princess of the badgirls in this atmosphere, but the Queen muthah remains Searah Pailin’.

@declanto: Did you include the word “p e n i s”? cause believe it or not will do it……….

@PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS: No, just the usual terms for stupidity and ignorance on the wing-nut fringe. Not even a “gosh”.
declanto
@PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS: Just thinking, it’s beyond my imaginative limits to think of “that word you used” and ms O’Donnell at the same time. It’s a sort of antimagnetic verbal construction that refuses to coalesce.
I was saying that this tea party mentality considers anything resembling intelligence to be a threat. They wear their ignorance like badges, identify themselves by poor grammar and misspelled words when they’re forced to write. Anyone who is capable of composing a coherent sentence is accused of being an effete intellectual conspiring against them to tip the country over the brink of socialism and godlessness. Pol Pot had similar views.

Cooper did a great job showing that Christine O’Donnell speaks in “bumper sticker” slogans, and that she can’t even support her reasoning for believing them…

Grammar. They are convinced there’s a conspiracy of intellectual elitists out there pushing the country over the brink of socialism and godlessness.

Sadly O’Donnell demonstrates the direction in which most Americans are headed. Check out the film “Idiocracy.” Too much 24 hour news and “reality” television. Spread the word PEACELUVNBWILD!
