We headed downtown during New York Fashion Week to go backstage at menswear designer Andre Landeros Michel’s show, Landeros New York at Open House on Houston Street. Michel’s debut collection drew from his love of Goth and the atmospheric sounds of of the New Wave and New Romantic music of nightclubbing in the ’80s.
Landeros, winner of the Prevue Visionary Award in 2013 and 2012, recently graduated from Parsons School of Design and was chosen as one of 30 international artists to create an Ice Art & Design Suite for the 2009-2010 hotel season in the Artic Circle in Jukkasjarvi, Sweden. The new Landeros New York collection featured models wearing unconventional luxury with original accessories and footwear customized with mohair, muskrat and raw Chinese silk.
Michel also worked with double-faced cashmere, wool bouclé, silk charmeuse, wool crepe, silver fox, raccoon, sable and neoprene for his collection. Phew!

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

Goth doesn’t mean your gay by the way….more “losing” by gay self haters…

Oh yeah, PETA is going to be hating on this. For that alone I want to like it but…
We stopped wearing crap like this in the 80’s for a reason.
(There are a few interesting pieces though)

@balehead: you wish.
keep fantasizing that you’re the only one with a nice body.
you’ll be doing all that fantasizing alone. sad and alone. no one in your life, because everyone you come into contact with realizes you’re a toxic self-loathing closet case.

I get that designers like incredibly thin women because they are basically clothes hangers at that point, but it seems incredibly counter, to have male models have the same body as the female models. Why not just have the female models wear the men’s clothes rather than wasting time casting a bunch of anorexic men to walk the runway?
Niall
So goth now equals black+bad haircuts? Because that’s all I see.
