Self-proclaimed “daddy” and former Bravo executive Andy Cohen is filming from the SXSW festival this week, and invited basketball star/LGBT ally Shaquille O’Neal to Watch What Happens Live for a chat.
They played a game of “Plead the Fifth”, during which Cohen asks “Your shoe size is 23, how big is your dick?”
Andy Cohen, folks! Leading the gay rights movement into a more tolerant future, one invasive question at a time.

This article comes across condescending towards Andy Cohen but the point of the game was literally to ask a question Shaq wouldn’t answer. After watching the video I think it was a funny bit that Shaq was happy to participate in.

lighten up people. that’s funny

It is NOT funny, or you have a very low bar for humor. It’s disgusting to “normal” GLBT people that the minority of our community can’t keep from thinking below the belt! Who the f*uck’s business is it how big one’s cock is?! Gezuz, grow a few ‘common sense’ brain cells and then learn how to use them! Unnnngh!

I’m a huge fan of Andy Cohen & watch his show every day (via DVR). However, I personally think this was a bit over the top.
Larry
OMG Andy finally asked the question every gay man who follows basketball has thought about!!! Shaq appeared to also be entertained which is the point of the show.
Cam
Wait, you mean he took time off from forcing another version of “The Real housewives” on the world?
dougmc92
honestly, do you expect Voltaire out of the lump that gave us the Housewives???
SteveDenver
That was hilarious, everyone on the show cracked up, and Shaq took it in stride and played along.

I love Andy Cohen! What a great personality. I thought it was pretty funny and appropriate for the humor of the show. People need to lighten up!!

That episode of “Watch What Happens Live” was one of the funniest things I’ve seen on American television. And Shaq LOVED answering the dick question! He got a huge laugh and the entire audience thought it was great!
NoelG
It was just a bit of horse(hung) play.

If the gender roles were reversed, you would never have the equivalent of ‘how tight is your pussy?’ on Bravo.
Tad
Was that really necessary? All it does is further marginalize and stereotype gay people as sex-obsessed. Look, I love that particular body part a lot, but I would not cheapen a celebrity interview by asking such a inanely provocative and totally unnecessary personal question. I wish Andy had not done so, either.

@JaredNorthcutt30: Cohen once asked one of his Housewives guests is if her breasts were real or fake. I don’t think he has a filter whether it’s a man or woman. He’s just going for the laughs.
Dan Shill
I must admit, I *have* always been sort of curious just how big Shaq’s dick is… I mean, he *is* bigger than the average in every other proportion, so one would naturally assume that he would be extra gifted in that area as well.

Breasts do not equal dick. Get your head out of your ass.

@JaredNorthcutt30: Amen! Jared, ya’ buy them books and ya’ buy them books, and all they do is look at the pictures! (Sigh.).

I always wondered who found Andy Cohen amusing. I fear for the future if he is considered hilarious. The only problem I have with his question is that I seriously doubt he would ask a white man on his show how big his dick is unless that person had a habit of raising the issue. But, as a black man, Shaq’s sex organ is fair game, as a fetishistic prop for white gay men.
Black Pegasus
Andy Cohen is an embarrassment. As a Black man, there is nothing about his routine or presence in the media speaks to me in any way that’s entertaining or enlightening. And quite frankly, I fail to see how he helps the image of gay people regardless of race. The shows he produces features some of the most stereotypical caricatures on television (himself included).

@jar:
Speak on it!!!!!

I’m Black and I don’t find Andy to be offensive or demeaning to the black or gay community. Here is a situation where we have the tables turned of sexualized stereotypes that are usually used on women by straight comedians. I applaud him for making the playing field even. In an imaginary conservative world no one would be exploited sexually at the expense of humor, but humans are superficial and at times cruel so it better we all pay our dues equally.

What a minstrel. Tacky.

You can’t patronize a website that posts porn and other salacious content and then get prudish when it suits you. Pull the sticks out fellas. I’m sure it’s not your first time at the rodeo.
Meowzer
Geez Louise. It was a gag (pun intended) joke! Just like Ellen with Liza. Why does everything have to have to be so PC? I’m sure it’s not like Andy ambushed Shaq to embarasse him.
Personally, it’s a question I’ve always wanted an answer to.

Body and shoe sizes do not tell the whole tale.
The biggest one I have seen was on this Jamaican 5′-6″ tall and weigh no more than 140lbs.
And I have met some hulks with little or average sizes.
