You have to pity them. It will be several generations before the Mormon church catches up with the rest of us. And don't get me started on the Roman Catholics.

There is nothing like a mother's love.

One of my brothers friends in Idaho are Mormons who have a son who died of AIDS.
I think that thier other son is Gay. The boys Mother is an artist and a really strong supporter of gay rights. She wears at least one Gay button around all the time. Really a srong and sweet lady; her husband is a great supporter too.
The mormon church has taken different positions on Queerness, and many members are gay. Good for them. I'll bet that she is with them. She is really strong in her + beliefs. toward us.

those women are amazingly strong, to stand up against the majority of their group, whom they see every day around town and in church, to say that what the church is doing is wrong. Those women deserve support on top of a huge hug. I love hearing about his stuff, it reminds me that not all religious people are intent on forcing their ideology on the rest of the world.

Amid all the hate coming out of church leadership in Utah lately, it might interest some of us to know that at least one prominent Mormon family came out against Prop. 8 today.

Former 49ers quarterback Steve Young and his wife Barbara have put up "No on 8" signs in their yard. And in a letter to Equality California, the Youngs say they're going to vote against the amendment because "We believe all families matter."

These are hardcore Republicans folks. And Steve is a descendant of Brigham Young (as in ultra-conservative BYU). So, this is a major "crossover" endorsement.

Not only did Steve Young and his wife say they're going to vote NO on 8, they also donated $37,000 to help defeat Prop. 8.
