Thanks to those three homos that some in the Episcopal Church want to be promoted to bishops, this isn’t terribly surprising: “The [Fresno, Calif.-based] conservative Diocese of San Joaquin voted Saturday to split from the liberal-leaning Episcopal Church, becoming the first full diocese to secede from the denomination in the debate over the Bible and homosexuality. Clergy and lay members of the Episcopal Diocese of San Joaquin voted 173-22 at their annual convention to remove all references to the national church from the diocese’s constitution, said the Rev. Van McCalister, a diocesan spokesman.” Heh. Remember when Fresno gave you other reasons to be suspect?

“Liberal leaning Episcopal Church” is NOT ENOUGH. Officially Episcopalians still make homosexuality “wrong, sinful and deviant.” Until this changes they are only changing “appearances” in a marketing effort to attract gays and lesbians.
Vicki Gene Robinson – that gay religious hero, knows this but does NOTHING about it. He is a hypocrite.
We must have the courage to end the “wrong” of homosexual. That means rejecting the religious lie about us. Equality is more important than ancient fairy tales. Or even Vicki-Gene very “fairy tales.”

Umm… this happened back in 2007. It even says so in the leader on the story you linked to. This is not news, Queerty.
Also, The Episcopal Church does not officially categorize same-sex relationships as sinful, though certain conservative parishes/dioceses still affiliated with the denomination do. In fact, General Convention just passed, among other LGBT-positive resolutions, D025, which reaffirms that same-sex relationships “characterized by fidelity, monogamy, mutual affection and respect, careful, honest communication, and the holy love which enables those in such relationships to see in each other the image of God” are good and holy, which has been the denomination’s official position since 2000.
Yes, the denomination’s House of Bishops is still unwilling to recognize a denomination-wide rite for the blessing of same-sex unions because they’re being blackmailed by ++Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and conservative archbishops from Africa and South America, but that isn’t to say that the denomination isn’t making strides toward equality. Episcopal bishops regularly support marriage equality efforts in their states, the denomination has repeatedly called for the full inclusion of LGBT persons in American society, and discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity is against canon law (denominational policy), something which not all Fortune 500 can boast, let alone the federal government.

How can an event that happened nearly two years ago be the result of one that happened last week?
Also, why have so many stories from the past been turning up as recent on Google News searches? I keep getting articles listed “5 hours ago” or similar that, once opened, turn out to be from 2003-7.
