Cliff Kincaid, the head of America’s Survival — you know, the ultra-conservative group that’s angry with Fox News for not being homophobic enough — wants the network’s reigning queen, Shepard Smith, to admit he’s gay. Probably so they can prove he doesn’t float and can burn him at the stake.
Last Tuesday, during a presentation on America’s Survival’s damn damning report on that left-leaning commie beacon Fox News, Kincaid addressed the pink elephant in the room: namely, Shepard Smith’s annual inclusion on Out magazine’s Power List.
“I don’t know about you, but if I was listed as one of the most powerful homosexuals in the media, I would first demand a retraction and probably sue for defamation and collect a lot of money,” Kincaid, who should be so lucky, said. “Shepard Smith, according to my information, has never asked that that be taken down. He’s been one of Out magazine’s most powerful media homosexuals for several years in a row.”
Kincaid also noted that during Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, Smith had the waffle fries to refer to it as National Day of Intolerance.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Described by Out as “a lone, trusted voice in a sea of just plain awful,” Smith rose the ranks this year to come in at a respectable number eight on the list of the 50 most powerful LGBT celebs in the media. That’s just three spots below Anderson Cooper, who, Kincaid notes, was also a regular on the list before coming out. But he’s on CNN where that kind of liberal lunacy is expected, if not encouraged.
“So look, Shep, come out of the closet,” Kincaid urged. “Come out of the closet.”
The devil and Judy Garland must be wrapped in mink stoles while sipping on hot toddies by a roaring hellfire ’cause we knew it’d be a cold day down there once we agreed with someone like Cliff Kincaid. Maybe we can team up to get the perennially most powerful gay in the media, Apple CEO Tim Cook, to finally fly his rainbow flag in public.
Whaddya say, Cliff, wanna hook up?

Queerty please don’t force me to defend anyone from faux news, but I am against anyone being outed besides politicians voting against gay rights. Every one else should come out when it is personally right for them and not for the movement. If Mr. Smith isn’t acting against gay rights while leading a double life leave the dude alone.

Kincaid should come out. Anyone that obsessed with others has his own secret burdening his frame.
Ryan Nix
They just want to out someone and roast them. Plain and simple.

Conservatives are so entertaining… for animals! What can one say about Faux Noise that’s low enough?! Unnngh!
Snapper59
I would say Fox News has the audience and the money. He’d dance out of his closet and over to CNN if his contract paid the same there.

God forbid a gay man would work for Evil Corporate Overlord Fox. It dares to threaten the stereotype that all of us are die-hard liberals, and we certainly wouldn’t want to compromise that opinion of us, would we?
When, when, WHEN will you people understand that our common sexuality doesn’t mean that every last one of us has to share political philosophies? The very notion is absurd.
unclemike
And yet not a word about Matt Drudge. Hmmm…
DarkZephyr
@BJ McFrisky: Why are you assuming that OUT Magazine is correct about him?
And I am not a die hard liberal, but I do want all of us to have the same freedoms as straight people, something that I have never once seen you advocate for. That is why I doubt you really are one of us.
Snapper59
What’s interesting with all the Fox News bashing is that anyone on MSNBC and CNN would leap at the opportunity to jump to the highest rated highest paying network. You have to laugh CNNs Howard Kurtz so easily was Fox News bashing one day and hired there the next. Wonder if he even said “bye” to anyone while rushing out the door.
BJ McFrisky
@DarkZephyr: I assume they’re right about Smith the same reason I assume they were right about Anderson Cooper, Jodi Foster, Ricky Martin, and all the other celebrities they’ve cited who, in fact, turned out to be gay.
And what a strange comment to suggest I don’t advocate for the same freedoms as straight people. Just because I’m not screaming hysterically for gay marriage and don’t attend pride parades doesn’t mean I don’t advocate for freedom.
DarkZephyr
@BJ McFrisky: Its not that, its that you always seem to scream AGAINST these things.
Scribe38
@BJ McFrisky: so what do you do? Asking to have the same rights as every other American is somehow wrong? Btw what post or part of the article mentions he shouldn’t work for faux news? Yeah I think they are full of shit but no one said he shouldn’t work faux other than the Right Wing Nut in the video.
Cam
@BJ McFrisky: said….. “God forbid a gay man would work for Evil Corporate Overlord Fox. It dares to threaten the stereotype that all of us are die-hard liberals, and we certainly wouldn’t want to compromise that opinion of us, would we?”

BJ, what cracks me up about you, is that you are so glued to your “Democrats and Liberals are evil and I must attack them” narrative that you actually do so even when the story is about right wing nutjobs.
Smith is being yelled at to come out by a right wing group, and yet ONCE AGAIN, you use it as an excuse to attack people on the left. If you are so disingenuous that you are trying to pretend that this story has anything to do with the left, that is beyond idiotic.
Mike
I don’t think Shep is gay. He at least “pretends” to be pretty conservative on Fox and is very critical of the Obama administration. I’ve always found him to be arrogant and annoying though. I have to turn the channel when he’s on. He’s such a drama queen! If he does come out, he’s got a hell of a lot of apologizing to do. Dunno, Out must know something that I don’t about Shep.
tdx3fan
@BJ McFrisky: I will recognize that gay men can follow two different political philosophies when those two different philosophies stop being, “WE HATE GAY PEOPLE!” and “Gay people deserve rights!” Since those are the only two major choices right now, if you are gay and choose to follow the “WE HATE GAY PEOPLE” one, you better have a VERY good reason, and family ties, financial matters and telling women what to do with their own bodies is NOT a very good reason.
DarkZephyr
@BJ McFrisky: Why does advocating for equality have to mean “screaming hysterically”?
sportsguy1983
How mature of Queerty to post a picture that makes it look like Shepard Smith is about to about to give oral sex.
Snapper59
@Mike:
Remember when AOL was it as far as the Internet went and they had a gay section? Shepard Smith was a recent Fox hire and there were people who swore up and down you could find Shep in the NYC gay bars humming show tunes and one guy sounded very legit when he wrote he actually had to get a little aggressive in telling this new anchor in the past in such a place that “No” meant “No!”
Cam
@tdx3fan:
If You, Me, AND DarkZepher all agree on this about BJ, that has to say something lol

THAT MAN IS A GAY HOMOSEXUAL
BJ McFrisky
Listen, it’s obvious that Smith’s employment at Faux/Foe/Fake/Fawn/Faucet/Fox News (insert whatever childish jab you prefer) is an affront to a lot of gay people, because they think that Fox is a genuinely evil entity that drinks gay babies’ blood and sacrifices lesbian puppies, all in the name of religious zealotry.
@Scribe38: I never said he shouldn’t work for Fox. He has every right to work wherever he wants. You misunderstood. I like Shep.
@Cam: I understand it was a crazy right-winger who made this statement about Smith, but my “attacks” on the Left are centered solely on liberal hypocrisy (you know I could list a hundred examples, Cam—you know it). This guy wasn’t being hypocritical, he was just being ideologically nasty and stupid about gays in general.
Spike
The American christian Taliban is going nutts because Fox Noise has taken a very apparent left turn as far as marriage equality and reporting it accordingly. No doubt this is what happens when the media spoons feeds it’s audience exactly what they want to hear and abruptly stops. Actually it’s kind of fun to watch!
sportsguy1983
Faux News and BSNBC are competing for being the most biased ridiculous cable news network. CNN only wish people were paying attention to it.
Teleny
@BJ McFrisky: are you still on here jacking off to boys in speedos and writing right wing hate in your spare time? Geez: get a life and a boyfriend!
muscl954
I thought Shep came out a long time ago! He’s acknowledged it publicly in print.
Redpalacebulleaglesox
Hey douchebag, it isn’t any more your business than it is mine what Shepard Smith’s sexuality is. It isn’t any of your business what mine is. It isn’t any of my business what yours is. Kindly crawl back under the large boulder you came out from under.
LadyL
Look, why is Mr. Kincaid so insistent on Shepard Smith coming out? Is he looking for a date or a cleaner shot?
JayHobeSound
Gotta be wary of moral scolds like Kincaid who are suspiciously obsessed with The Gays.
The only noise from Republicans over the last year has been: anti-gay, anti-abortion rights, anti-immigration and anti-poor/black/Hispanic/young people voting. Also, anti-Obamacare. They did manage to grant some big gifts to Big Business. Otherwise, they have been anti-We the People.
BrandoPolo
@Cam: Yeah, but if Republicans removed the massive chip from their shoulders long enough to stop whining about “liberals” and “the media” and whatever made up paranoid “conservatives are such victims” scandal du jour they’re focusing on at any given time, they’d have to actually come up with workable policies to help govern the nation. Since they have no useful ideas, it’s easier to just whine, cry, and play the martyr constantly.
Jan Civil
@BJ McFrisky: It’s obvious that you tell yourself a story about it that doesn’t resemble much of anything real. I could see someone taking Shep’s employment at Fox as an affront because the message until a couple of exceptions recently has been hate teh gays, you know. Why do you need this ridiculous excess, though?
A lot of us find this story hilarious, I think the whole thing is supposed to tickle our collective funny bone. It’s kind of telling that you would seize on this to make some big deal about your perception of ‘the left’. Does ‘the right’ support gay rights in some way we’re missing? Sure I know conservative queers in the Castro, for years, but Fox exceeds ‘conservatism’, it’s Bizarro World, it’s this feverish, unhinged thing.
There is hypocrisy all over. You somehow miss that a gay man working for this bigotfest is hypocritical? Really? Or does one preach about hating himself? He’s practicing homosexuality at a place that preaches it’s a sin, and all this.
See if you can’t buy a sense of humor, though. It seems kind of desperate, in a sad way, to see someone that needs this to say ‘liberal hypocrisy’. What would a liberal be doing to fail to practice what they preach per this story?
Jan Civil
@BJ McFrisky: which freedoms do you advocate for when you need to hype advocating for same sex marriage as “screaming”? that doesn’t seem to hold together so well.
BJ McFrisky
@Jan Civil: Sorry, I fell asleep while reading your reply. Next time keep it brief.

Your mom and dad’s parenting style just came up again in this last post, BJ McFrisky. Is that why you overcompensate now? You are one screwed up fucktard.
