A wedding photographer from Florida recently found himself out of a job when a bride-to-be fired him upon learning he supported gay marriage. But, don’t worry, he got the last laugh.
Clinton Brentwood Lee, owner of Brentwood Photography in Saint Petersburg, FL, received a rather nasty text message from a client after she went on his went on his website and discovered, to her absolute shock and horror, that he had photographed same-sex wedding ceremonies.

“Greetings Brentwood,” the text began. “We would just like to inform you that we will NOT be using your services for our wedding.”

The text continued: “My fiance and I support traditional marriage between a man and a woman and don’t want our money going to places that support otherwise.”
Boycotting every pro-gay business in the world? Good luck with that, honey.
The bride then asked for the $1,500 non-refundable deposit she initially put down to be returned. Apparently, she doesn’t understand how a non-refundable deposit works.
But Brentwood didn’t let the bitchy little note get the best of him. Instead, he replied:
“Wow, I’m really not sure what to say here. I would say this disappoints me, but I actually find this to be a good thing because our company would not not like to work with you as well.”

He continued: ” Now as far as your retainer goes, I hope you’ll read the first article in the contract you signed stating that this retainer is nonrefundable. But don’t worry, I’m not going to keep it!”
Instead, Brentwood says, “I have decided to donate your $1,500 to GLAAD, a group created to help and support gay rights.”
“Let me be the first to say thank you very much for your donation and support for this great cause,” his response concluded. “I couldn’t have done it without your money.”

I really hope that they send her a giant rainbow flag as a thank you for generous donation and plant it in her front yard while she’s at work. Amazing that Fundie fanatics not only want to isolate gay people from the free market, they also want to do the same to anyone who has any transaction with anything related to gayness. I guess it’s the same logic Westboro Baptists use when they protest the funeral of dead military to inform the mourners that the deceased is burning in hell because they served a country that doesn’t put homosexuals to death. Bible-based logic must be too complicated for us poor heathens to comprehend. But God said it was the truth so we have no other choice. The Bible tells us this and it has to be true because the Bible is the Word of God and God cannot tell a lie….. See I’m beginning to get the hang of how it works. Hopefully I can figure out the rest before the Rapture and won’t be left behind to be eaten by Satan’s demons. Bible-based arguments make my head spin like Linda Blair in the Exorcist.

This is absolutely wonderful! I cannot think of how such blatant homophobia and bigotry could possibly have backfired in a more spectacular manner! I would have paid real money to see the face of this horrible woman upon learning that she had effectively donated $1,500.00 to a group which promotes gay rights and which fights to ensure equality for all gay Americans!
Now she will have to fork out ANOTHER non-refundable deposit — assuming that she can find a photographer who refuses to photograph gay weddings! Good luck to her with that one (NOT!).
