Oh those poor guys. Having to face consequences for their actions must be a real drag.
Making “anti-gay statements” openly in the workplace is considered sexual harassment regardless of motive.
In most places in the US it is perfectly legal to fire someone for being gay. On the other hand, religious discrimination is prohibited. Therefore the “logical” conclusion from this survey is that they are planning to fire gay people.
@Chris-MI: In many places in the US, it is perfectly legal to fire someone because you want to.
I am glad that I live in canada where we have zero tolerance for that bullshit and if it does happen companies can get the absolute shit sued out of them
Wish these morons would choke on their Bibles already and leave everyone else alone…PATHETIC CREATURES!!!!
That Victim card is the only one pulled out of their wallet these days.
And yet if somebody put up something that was anti-Christian they would be freaking out and demanding that that person get fired.
If you can’t keep your bigotry silent then don’t be surprised when you get fired.
I would like to point out that while the great flood was probably not global, there is archaeological evidence to suggest that a large scale flooding event probably actually happened in what we know as the fertile crescent area where these stories originated from. Might want to choose a different ridiculous Biblical allegory. Like maybe the existence of god.
Say what? Afraid of reaping what you have sewn? What goes around comes around.
The fundamentalists don’t understand that freedom of religion and freedom of speech mean that the government can’t prosecute you for practicing your religion or speaking your mind. These rights do not compel an employer to pay you to give sermons at work. Everyone has freedom of religion and speech, but we all have to be at work at a certain time, dress a certain way and say certain things at work for us to receive pay by our employers. I’m a teacher. That requires me to be at work early, dress in slacks and a dress shirt and teach kids a certain curriculum using age-appropriate terms. If I quit and get a job selling cars, what I would be expected to say at work would be entirely different. The fundamentalists want to be ministers everywhere. I don’t want my principal leading a prayer during a faculty meeting (yes, it really happens in public schools). I also don’t want my cake decorator counseling me on whom I should marry any more than I want my minister decorating my wedding cake. In short, people need to do their jobs and stop with the agenda at work.
Hobby Lobby and Chick Fil A are always hiring. The real question I have is…..How does Mezzian feel abt this?
In number 5 you mean “ally” not “alley”. Unless Chase spelled it that way.
And this is a non issue for the sane Christians, unless you are a crazy one and like to recruit for baby Jesus and mouth off about all the gays going to Hell while you are supposed to be focusing on work.
Anyone bother to point out to those opposing JPMorgan Chase that it is illegal to ask a prospective employee about their religion? However, an applicant can volunteer and information concerning their religion during a pre-hire interview if the so desire. This phony “war on Christians” continues to get more and more ridiculous all while these same regroups are attempting to pass laws that will allow them to legally discriminate against anyone they feel offends (or fails to follow) their “strongly held religious beliefs”. I don’t hate Christians I just hate their agenda( forcing THEIR religion on everyone else).
Let’s see, the righteous Christians have been so bold as to speak against us, beat us, kill us, work at enacting laws against us, get us fired, get us kicked out of our homes, get us fired from our jobs, prevent our relationships from being recognized, attempt to break up our families, make it illegal to adopt, to mention a few. Not once have gays attempted similar actions against the Christians. Should they fear, you bet. Do they need to fear? I don’t think so, we just want our lives to be secure like everyone else, getting that we will move on. Time itself will show the idiocies of the righteous Christians. Karma will take care.
@Opposing The Homosexual Lifestyle: The only perversion that exists in nature is hatred and bigotry. Homosexuality is quite normal, accepted and part of God’s creating in nature. So what you are saying is you are a business of perverts, not wanting normal people to be part of your workplace. Not only are you perverts, but also unethical. Watch it, KARMA is coming to get you and your business. Sad.
@Opposing The Homosexual Lifestyle:
Good luck with the little Latino fantasy of immigration hurting the gay cause. Because most Mexicans and Latino’s (including those I know) are pretty accepting of gays, compared to the many white, conservative, religious crackpots who aren’t.
And I hate to break it to you, but there is no gay Mafia. But there certainly is a Christian Mafia, and in this country it’s usually referred to as the Grand Old Party. And all the crazies in it, just like this one, want your crazy vote, too. And education, common sense, and compassion is not required, so you will fit right in.
Isn’t it easier to just say, Christians fear: _________________… (fill in the infinite blanks)?
Increasing numbers of Americans are becoming ANTI STUPIDITY, and are unwilling to sit by while their relative, friend, co-worker, neighbor, professional peer, school teacher, doctor, police and fire officer, favorite singer/actor/celebrity chef/Olympic athlete/NFL draft pick/historical figure/etc. is picked on by someone whose superstitious club won’t even pay its taxes.
FUNNY NOBODY CONNECTED WITH THIS ARTICLE BOTHERED TO CHECK OUT THE COMPLETE SYORY: IT’S FAKE. THANKS QUEERTY.
Why do these uneducated fake Christians even bother with us … God will continue making us till they learn we deserve every right just like them .
@Mikah: LMAO. That’s a good one; me likee!
Realistically, these “Religitards”, nice word Mikah, only fear themselves because they have been unable to think which prevents them from learning that we all deserve equal rights, including the equal right of justice for those who are really naughty.
They need a little cheese to go with their whines.
This fear of anti-Christian discrimination reminds me of last year’s letter from Catholic Cardinal Francis George to his Chicago parishioners, in which he worried that his opposition to gay marriage and gays in general might lead people to call him a bigot.
A response in the Chicago Sun-Times by Neil Steinberg was priceless. He wrote: “You worry, in your letters, not about the families you would blithely squelch, but about your own feelings, the risk that devout Catholics will be seen as ‘the equivalent of bigots’ after gay marriage becomes completely accepted — which it certainly will.
“Well, yeah, that’s the drawback of being a bigot, no matter how you gild it in theology. But worry not — look at the church’s stance on females. While society long ago let them be doctors and lawyers and, yes, even clergy, the church refuses to follow suit. Yet it lives with the anti-women stigma just fine. It’ll be no different with gays, and the church’s position will be just one more antiquated cruelty the world will tolerate. You’ll hardly notice.”
Steinberg concluded with this criticism: “Rather than try to make life better for gays — a long-oppressed group only now achieving freedoms most take for granted — you choose to set your faith as a stumbling block before them. Rather than help the more hidebound members of your church see why this is rightly happening now, you vigorously rally them to desperate, last-ditch resistance.”
