Call it the ol’ Arizona bait and switch!
Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, who was hit with a massive scandal in February when accused of threatening to deport his Mexican ex-boyfriend, has decided to drop out of the race for a spot in the House of Representatives. In the fallout, Babeu admitted he was gay but claimed that he did not make the deportation threats.
Instead, he’ll focus on being re-elected Sheriff. So what’s he going to do with all that money the gay Republicans raised for him, huh?
You could say that’s the pink elephant in the room (heh).
How about we take this to the next level?

It would be interesting to see how well this Sheriff’s candidate lives this particular incident down. It’s obvious that he will NOT engender the trust of the Mexican-American community due to this situation, and probably will lose the GLBT vote too.
