Judging by some of the asinine comments on this site, it does not appear that the right-wing’s propaganda machine is limited to the major news networks.
I think the Pentagon tried something similar during the Vietnam War. They ended up being embarrassed. Of course, the news reporting organisations were bigger and less cowardly then.
