Florida State Sen. Mike Bennett, a Republican, was videotaped on the Senate floor looking at lady porn while his colleagues debate an abortion bill. Bennett insists he was merely opening an email sent to him by a (female) former court administrator, and that he immediately clicked away from it. The clip suggests as much. Senate spokesperson Jaryn Emhof further defended Bennett’s slip-up: “There was some confusion about an email he received. He thought it was an email about an item being debated on the Senate floor. As soon as he realized it wasn’t he closed the page.” So, constituents, please don’t email your state lawmakers anything with the subject line “Hot nude girls who will do anything you want!! (and who wouldn’t be alive if they were aborted),” because that can be confusing.
Needless to say, Sen. Bennett wasn’t terribly thrilled his computer activities are being monitored.
