UPDATE: Although the investigation is still ongoing, police claim the incident is likely a hoax and the result of a hack. Sgt. Warren Pickard told WSB Radio, “At this point we do believe his account was hacked. We do have some credible leads.” However, as Project Q reports, police have yet to comment on tweets from April on Edgerton’s account that claimed he “will terrorize the gays in Atlanta.”
An Atlanta man is currently being investigated after tweeting that he could make two local gays bars into “the next Orlando.”

The GA Voice reports that Brett Edgerton, a gay man, wrote: “TEN or Blake’s could be the next Orlando. You think I am the type to be the next ‘shooter’? Keep hating me then…”

A previous tweet simply said, “You are all dead to me,” and his Twitter account’s headline (handle @BrettTEdgerton) read: “I will be the last person you will see.”
The account has now been taken down, but hundreds of people in the Atlanta community shared his tweets on Tuesday before the police ultimately got involved.
Edgerton has yet to be changed with any crime, but the investigation is ongoing.

They have evidence his account was hacked. The investigation needs to be conducted and concluded. If his account was indeed hacked, I think we all an apology to this man. If it was him who said it, he should be prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law.
However, the evidence may suggest his account was indeed hacked.
