Australia Will Pass Same-Sex Nondiscrimination Bill

Fulfilling a promise made by the nation’s Labour party during last year’s elections, a sweeping bill that eliminates same-sex discrimination for taxes, social security and health care passed in the upper House and is expected to pass the House of representatives later this week. [The Age]

That is awesome. With the drought predicted to be recessing, Australia is really looking up.

This is great news and I’m so glad that Labour are keeping the promises that I voted them in to make. Now we just need civil unions sorted and for the death of Work Choices and I am a happy man.
