Mark Krieger and Paul Siebold, the couple featured in the new Logo TV series, The Baby Wait, paid a visit to The Jeff Probst Show where they discussed how they connected with the mother of their child.
A then-pregnant 18-year-old Genavieve Diggs was looking for someone to adopt her baby, knowing that she was not capable of raising it herself. At first, it seemed like the perfect match, but once the baby was born, by Connecticut law, the birth mother had 30 days to change her mind, leaving Mark and Paul on edge.
Genavieve, however, was truly committed to helping out the couple as Mark recalled after seeing the baby’s first ultrasound with Paul.
“When I heard the heartbeat,” he said, “I choked up and I remember her saying, ‘That heart’s gonna be beating for you guys.'”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
And for Genavieve, Mark and Paul being a gay couple was not an issue.
“I didn’t care because you know – no offense to straight couples who are trying to adopt – but you know gay couples would more be more likely to stay with each other and you know they want a child, they want it because they can’t have it.”
